This was a great story. It was funny and had a good message but wasn‘t as heavy as many books these days.

#WondrousWednesday @Eggs
This was one of my absolute favourite, edge of the seat adventure books when I was a kid.I could probably read it now and still love it!
From a children's book, definitely George Kirrin of The Famous Five, not perfect at all, straining against the constraints of girlhood,a clever rebellion against expected behaviours.
I read The Long Goodbye and would give it all the stars!!

Eggs Love Enid Blyton❣️ Thanks for playing 🥳 4d

#BookHaul! I couldn‘t resist the NYRB children‘s book sale, and I #blameitonlitsy—specifically @TheBookHippie 😁

I‘m so excited about these! Three of them I‘ve been wanting to read for a while, and the Rumer Godden also sounded SO good—I justified buying it in order to get the maximum discount. Of course. 😆📚💜

TheBookHippie 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I got 8 and wrapped them for my birthday next week 👀🎉🤣 4d

This was an absolute gem to read.
I've never read any Winnie the Pooh books so it was just a fun and relaxing read.
I read a chapter at a time as each one was a short story and I never really knew how sarcastic Owl actually is but this has cemented my love of these characters. Not to mention that Pooh is more than just a rumbly tumbly bear.

Milne gave them such characteristics that it's easy to see why they're so beloved.

The fourth Dolittle book is set back in England. As usual (because of his generous nature) Dolittle is broke, so the pushmi-pullyu agrees to travel with a circus to raise some funds. So the entire household sets off together. This book was a lot about the importance of animal comfort and care and was definitely ahead of its time in calling out circuses and the like for their treatment of animals. There were some fun moments (Dolittle getting ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) arrested AGAIN 😂). The ending was quite abrupt, but it appears that book 5 is going to pick up right where this one left off.

Roary47 Oh man I need to catch up. I got two weeks of grading and I‘m out for the summer. I‘ll catch up soon! 2w
TheAromaofBooks @Roary47 - I use a complicated number generator method to choose my next book, and somehow two Dolittle books got picked almost back to back! 😂 So no rush!! 2w

3✨There was a lot of mini stories in here, and a large bird presence as they are the ones helping to deliver the letters. I really liked how Dr Dolittle helps to create a written language for the animals so they can communicate through mail. With that I finished the first Volume! 😍 #DolittleDiscussion

TheAromaofBooks The chapters where different animals were telling random stories definitely felt like filler. But also seemed like something I would have enjoyed as a bedtime story when I was a kid haha 2w
Roary47 @TheAromaofBooks That is true. I read a chapter book to my son (1 year old) who likes to just lay and listen and 1 chapter a day is pretty much his limit. 2w
