Excellent Women | Barbara Pym

#IWonder if Mildred ever found true love or the confidence to finally stand up for herself. The beauty of this book is the genuine portrayal of flawed characters that don‘t necessarily have a neat ending tied up in a bow.

#IWonder what it is that makes me bail or hate a book, while others rave about it and love it. I hate-read the tagged book and bailed on the other three, but I know they all have big fans on Litsy. I know everyone is different, and I‘m slowly becoming more okay with not loving or even liking a popular book, if it just isn‘t for me 🤷‍♀️

Aimeesue For years I kept trying to read fantasy and hated most of it (I don't even like LOTR) but kept trying because I did like *some* of it. Then I realized I only like fantasy if it's based on fairy tales or folklore, or if it's satire, like Discworld. I yam what I yam. 😋 6y

When I saw the #Iwonder prompt, The Monotones “book I‘d love” is what came to mind, not #abbainaugust. Book of Love made me think of this incredible book. Speaking of love, that peach champagne we are having for breakfast is what they will also serve us at our couples massage in a bit. It‘s been 20 years since our first date, and one year ago today since he first kissed me. (The first date was in HS, we didn‘t like wait 19 years to make out). ♥️
