My second weekend in a row at HPB ended in a massive book haul… so here goes:
Completely an impulse buy because…black cat. There are a lot of books in this series too so I hope I like them

Soft pick bc the parts where young Lily endured sexual abuse was a lot for me, and sad 😞. Otherwise compelling at times and I found myself rooting for Lily (who calls herself Ruby, as a showgirl), and hoping she‘d find her niche.

This was a charming YA heist of a group of all asexual friends!
While there are a lot of things I like about Las Vegas, the actual casinos are pretty low on the list. 🤣
#SundayFunday Hope you all have a great day and don‘t forget to tag me!
While the title suggests that this is a book merely about Elvis, this is actually a comprehensive history of Sin City itself. From its humble railroad beginnings to the entertainment capital of the world, author Richard Zoglin takes us through the story of this desert oasis. This is an in depth look at the entertainers that set the stage for a performer like Elvis, people like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr.
1. My first name is Kelli. I like it and I wouldn‘t change it at all.
2. The tagged book has a female character named Kelly who had a one night stand in Vegas with a guy and she found out the next morning that she married him in Vegas too. Her name is spelled with a Y. My name is spelled with an I. I read this book on my Kindle back in 2021. I enjoyed this book. This is the first book I‘ve ever read with my name in it.

Epic family saga set in Las Vegas. Time period 1923-1978. First of a trilogy. I wholeheartedly enjoyed it. I‘ve never read Fern Michaels before. Good female characters. #LasVegas Pub date: 1996
Desert Rose Book 2. The books starts out with a tragic revelation for Harmony. Harmony‘s sisters fly to Las Vegas to be with her and her 5 year old son, Eddie. The title serves as a double entendre..which I thought was interesting. A Road trip to NY ensues and all kinds of crazy happens in the midst of deep grief. I loved both books. McMurtry is highly readable and crafts a great yarn, he reminds of of Stephen King in that way.
