It‘s Friday and these are the books I brought home with me #libraryhaul 📚
The bottom two because I watched a YouTube video about the Carol Shields long list. I cannot be stopped 🤦‍♀️

AnnCrystal A Council of Dolls 👏🤩👍. I've read that it is a powerful story! 2w
Hooked_on_books The bottom 2 were also longlisted for the National Book Award for 2023. Both are good reads! 2w
sarahbarnes I haven‘t even HEARD of that list! Now I must look into it. 2w
BarbaraBB Like @sarahbarnes I haven‘t heard of that list either (and I loved Carol Shields). I am forcing myself NOT to look it up 😂 2w
Donna1980 Loot is on my list too. Sounds brilliant. 2w

When most of your library holds arrive at the same time, it takes a pretty strong bag to make it back to the car. Does anyone else like to gaze at the books you pick up at the library, especially the new ones you know you‘re the first to get, or is it just me???

The books have been thoroughly examined, as Zeke is showing. Any recommendations on the first to read from the stack? #Zeke #CatsOfLitsy #libraryhaul

RaeLovesToRead Hi Zeke!!! 👋🏻😄💕 2w
AlaMich I love getting brand new hardbacks at the library because, ever since I was a kid, I‘ve enjoyed the crackling sound the plastic makes. 2w
JanuarieTimewalker13 Zeke is adorable!!❤️🐾 2w

Librarybelle @AlaMich That is the best sound! 2w
dabbe 🖤🐾🖤 2w
CatLass007 Hello gorgeous 😻😻😻! Is Zeke a dilute calico or am I seeing three colors where there are only two? 2w
CatLass007 Also, the books all look amazing. Have you decided which to read first? I‘m taking a screenshot so I can make sure to add these to my wish list. I think most of them are already on my list. 2w
Librarybelle @CatLass007 Zeke is gray and white. The setting sun may be playing with his color scheme, as some of his gray spots do look like a lighter gray or neutral color on spots on his legs. No clue which to read first! I actually have other books due this coming week I should get to before this stack. 😂 2w
CatLass007 He‘s still gorgeous. Enjoy whatever you read. 2w
CatLass007 As a native West Virginian, I‘m most intrigued by In the Shadow of the Greenbrier. It‘s now at the top of my wish list. 2w
Librarybelle @CatLass007 I‘m actually leaning towards that one…I had not heard of the significance of Greenbrier until I was in college. It‘s so intriguing, and I‘m glad to see a fictional story centered on Greenbrier. 2w
CatLass007 I‘ve never been to The Greenbrier but my Dad worked there now and then. He had two fine Greenbrier mugs and now they‘re mine. He had a mid weight jacket from there too. I think that was donated to charity. We didn‘t even live near there but Daddy did a lot of traveling before he met Mom and has fond memories of the place. There‘s a fallout shelter under the hotel that could house a lot of government officials if there were an emergency. (cont)⬇️ 2w
CatLass007 Of course it‘s no longer a secret but it‘s still fascinating. I saw it on a documentary several years ago. The mugs and jacket were a 21st century addition to my Dad‘s collection. 2w
Librarybelle What an awesome connection, @CatLass007 ! I had heard of the fallout shelter too from a documentary. 2w
CatLass007 Daddy traveled all over the country but he came back to his home town, which is my hometown. I no longer live in West Virginia and I won‘t ever move back there but visiting family isn‘t out of the question. Mom wasn‘t from West Virginia. She moved there for her first job after her dietetic internship. Not a lot of women in her generation went to college and had a career, but she did. Wow, I may be getting homesick… 2w
Jess I‘m quite interested in The Tower. If you get to that one, let us know what you think. Enjoy! 2w
Librarybelle Will do, @Jess . Thanks! 2w
Crazeedi I thought I was the only one to have a pile of 10 plus books I just borrowed, not like I don't have hundreds on my shelves tbr!! Lol 2w
Crazeedi And I always go to the new books rack first, that sits by the check out counter, hehehe!!! 2w
Librarybelle @Crazeedi Yes! New shelf scoping is the best stop at the library! 2w
Crazeedi @Librarybelle 🥰❤️ 2w
marleed When I‘m the first to read a newly published book from the public library in my head I deduct $15 from tax bill - telling myself it‘s a tax refund! 2w
Librarybelle @marleed 😁❤️ 2w
Kerrbearlib I do that, haha! Beautiful cat 🐱 ♥️ 1w

I forgot to post this week's #libraryhaul
The top one is for book group. The other two are my own choosing. (We're not going to talk about the 20 or so books I currently have on hold. 🤐)

When you finally find that long-awaited TBR at the library, only to realize 2 people placed a hold on it right after you the very same day - so now you have to binge read an 800+ page novel 🫠

#currentlyreading #libraryhaul #bubblebathbooks

RaeLovesToRead Oh man, it took me SO LONG to read this book. It's a difficult one to binge because the content is so intense. Good luck! 4w
RaeLovesToRead Also, I went to see this in London last year. The play was incredible too. No idea how the actors do it twice daily though. Wow. 4w
reading.rainb0w Wow, that would be an intense show! I can definitely tell within these first hundred pages that it will be an emotional read. I'll see what I can get through. I may just have to return it and come back to it when it's available again if it's too intense to binge. I'm only 100 pages in 4w
reading.rainb0w @RaeLovesToRead 👆🏾 forgot to tag you in above comment 4w
RaeLovesToRead According to my GR review, it took me 6 months to read 😬😬😅 It is truly haunting and memorable though. 4w
