1) Honestly, confused. I haven‘t heard the cat all day ( see my last post) I hope it is okay because I heard a couple of cat fights last night I think animal control came by and anti- cruelty called me. I just hope the cat is okay. Say a little prayer and send good vibes little Max is okay. I named him Max, lol. I will try to find out tomorrow. 2) I like Joyce Meyer but she is a religious speaker who has written a lot of books. Litsy is the only

Kerrbearlib Thanks for sharing. Any news on Max? I hope he's OK too. 19h
Mimi28 @Kerrbearlib I went and talked to a guy in the basement who said he would take care of Max until animals control comes 😊 3h

1. I am not doing great… I am super stressed about the end of the school year and over the weekend we got some not great news about my moms health
2. I am cautious about mental health content creators… I don‘t think I follow any

Kerrbearlib So sorry to hear about your mom. You're both in my thoughts. I think it's wise to be cautious about mental health content creators, especially if they have no credentials and/or claim they have all the answers. 18h

1. So far so good. I'm halfway through the day.
2. I follow some Facebook groups on mental health. I follow one person by newsletter/blogs. But she's been mostly selling her stuff the last year so I can't do that.
I'm about to walk into one of my happy places. 😊

1) Exhausted. One of my autistic children needed me to help them self-regulate so they could complete an assignment for their Senior Seminar. It‘s my last day of Spring Break so at least I didn‘t have to call off work.
2) I do not care for most of them. I have been studying mental health issues for a number of years and mostly know what works for me, so it‘s a matter of personal preference. I don‘t follow any.

Kerrbearlib Sending support your way. I hope today was less exhausting. Good for you for finding what works for you. 17h

#MentalHealthMonday

1. Tired & frazzled. Work is kicking my butt this month & while this week is no travel & a little quieter, there‘s still a lot going on.

2. Most aren‘t the messages I look for so I don‘t follow them. Maybe not quite the same but I do like The New Happy https://www.instagram.com/newhappyco?igsh=b2NpNnVqcHYyZWd6 I follow on Instagram & like the daily messages/colorful graphics. I have her new book on hold at the library. ⬇️

DebinHawaii … I‘m hoping it‘s like her posts & features-with simple changes & ideas to think about. Today‘s post about being kinder to yourself hit home for me—I‘m way too self critical. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2d
Kerrbearlib @DebinHawaii I'm also way too self-critical. I'm doing better with being kind to myself, but it's not always easy. I'm requesting her book too, sounds like it may be helpful! Thanks for sharing!

1. Today has been okay. I went to my exercise class, got some $ at the bank, and got some lunch that I ate at a local park. Tonight is book club, and I finished the selection this morning.
2. I don‘t follow mental health content creators. I had to look up a list of names, and I‘d never heard of any of them. #mentalhealthmonday

Kerrbearlib It sounds like a fun day yesterday! What did you read for your book club? I feel like you may have told me before, apologies if I forgot! 17h

#MentalHealthMonday checkin

1. Nervous about my cat‘s vet appointment. She has chronic kidney disease & I‘m worried her condition is worse.
2. I am cautious with mental health content creators. I follow some on YouTube. I try to stick to certified professionals & those who don‘t claim to have all the answers. Some of my favorites are Russell Razzaque, Patrick Teahan, & Emma McAdam. ⬇️

Kerrbearlib I love Dr Razzaque‘s video on staying sane during Trump‘s second term https://youtu.be/Nev_akLheiU?si=k33FapjYbYSkW6ms ⬇️ (edited) 2d
Kerrbearlib Patrick Teahan did a great video for bullying survivors who were triggered by the Trump & Zelenskyy meeting https://m.youtube.com/shorts/hRx1RdatLsE?si=_aIPOP5Mh3B5uqpa ⬇️ 2d
CatLass007 1) I‘m feeling a little sad about the passing of Pope Francis. He is the first Pope in my memory who actually cared about human rights. He wasn‘t exactly liberal but he wasn‘t anywhere near as regressive as his predecessors. I hope and pray that his successor follows in his footsteps. I was raised Catholic but I haven‘t been Catholic for decades. I don‘t even call myself a Christian anymore because I don‘t want to be associated with (cont)⬇️ 2d

Kerrbearlib Emma McAdam gives great tips about emotional regulation, but I wish she‘d acknowledge the state of the world. I often perceive her messages as “Things are never as bad as you think” - which is irresponsible given the current political situation, IMO. That said, I do recommend her book & videos about noticing and naming emotions. ⬆️ 2d
CatLass007 the right wing nut jobs who preach the “prosperity gospel” or who spread hatred for those who are different in some way. But I still consider myself a follower of Christ and I do pay attention to the politics of religion. 2) I don‘t follow any mental health content providers but I definitely will watch Dr. Razzaque‘s video on staying sane during Trump‘s second term. Because that‘s something with which I am struggling. 2d
Kerrbearlib @CatLass007 I didn‘t know he passed away, RIP Pope Francis. I‘ve had mixed feelings about him. I wasn‘t a fan of his take on childless people or his position on IVF. But I appreciate that he cared more about human rights than his predecessors. Hopefully his successor will care about them too. I have Christian friends who feel the same way you do about not wanting to call themselves Christians. I‘d love to hear your thoughts on the video! 2d
CatLass007 The Catholic Church‘s position on IVF is based on its position on abortion. It‘s my understanding that multiple embryos are created and the “best” is implanted. The rest of the embryos are destroyed. My feelings about abortion are very complicated. I would never choose to have an abortion but I‘ll be damned if I‘d ever let anyone else make that decision for me. I guess I missed his position on childless people but as a proud childless cat (cont)⬇️ 2d
CatLass007 lady I probably wouldn‘t appreciate it either. The church position regarding contraception is completely illogical. But not only do I hope his successor maintains a focus on human rights, I hope he goes even further. 2d
CatLass007 I thought what Dr. R said is very insightful. I definitely notice how my body feels. The sight of DJT‘s face literally makes me want to vomit. The sound of his voice not only makes me want to vomit it makes my skin crawl and I almost feel like doing violence. I know that‘s my body‘s response to the rage and fear he instills in me. I don‘t watch TV news and I limit myself to looking at my newsfeed once a day. I do things I enjoy like (cont)⬇️ 2d
CatLass007 reading and cuddling the kitties. But I need to start doing other things that I enjoy like crochet and cross stitch. I really got out of the habit for a variety of reasons and it‘s actually depriving me of an almost meditative practice. I need to exercise because I don‘t do much of anything. And I need to be around like-minded people. My old crafting group has mostly died so I need to find a new one. I know of a couple. I decided to (cont)⬇️ 2d
CatLass007 follow Dr. R on YouTube and I think I‘ll check out the others you mentioned. 2d
IriDas I hope your cat is OK. 2d
Kerrbearlib @IriDas thanks ♥️ 2d
DebinHawaii I hope your kitty‘s appointment goes okay! 💛🐱💛 2d
AmyG I hope your cat is doing well. Mine had that. 2d
Kshakal Sending well wishes for you and your fur baby! 💗 2d
CatLass007 Have you gotten back from your kitty‘s vet appointment yet? What‘s the word? 2d
Kerrbearlib @IriDas @DebinHawaii @AmyG @Kshakal @CatLass007 thanks for your kind wishes for my cat. It was a rough appointment. They did basic checkup stuff, but then Boots freaked out when they tried to draw her blood for labs. I‘ve never seen her so distressed 😭 It was really busy & they didn‘t have enough vet techs available, so we decided to reschedule the bloodwork for when it‘s quieter & more staff are available. 2d
CatLass007 How are her veins? Drawing blood from a cat is difficult under the best of circumstances. I‘m sorry Boots had such a stressful experience.🙏🏽 Prayers for both of you. 2d
Kerrbearlib @CatLass007 take you ❤️ Her veins are OK, as far as I know. Vet didn't seem concerned. When we take her back they're going to try a smaller needle. She's had blood drawn before but never freaked out like that, so hopefully the smaller needle will help. 19h
CatLass007 I hope so too. Did they try to draw from her neck? 19h
Kerrbearlib @CatLass007 they drew from her back leg. 19h
CatLass007 I know that drawing it from the leg takes longer. Did they insert the needle and then she went wild? Or had they not inserted the needle at all yet? 19h
Kerrbearlib @CatLass007 they inserted it and then she went wild. She didn't go wild right away, but it didn't take long. I think it was just a few minutes. 18h
CatLass007 I‘m so sorry. I know that it‘s rough on her because she doesn‘t understand what‘s going on. And I know it‘s rough on you for so many reasons. 16h

1. Today was a lot. Just put away my computer and tomorrow is looking to be more intense (6 hours of being on an interview panel for a new principal after 4 hours of teaching—ugh).
2. I find most affirmations cheesy, but many of my students love them. Whatever works to get ya through the day🤷🏻‍♀️ My fav: It‘ll be good. It‘ll be great. It‘ll be over.

1. Tired; I had a fairly busy day: cleaned the inside of my car, did laundry, drove my grandpa to see my grandma (they live in separate facilities), and went to a book club meeting.
2. They‘re ok, I suppose. I often repeat things like “It‘s okay” while rubbing a tchotchke or my Joy for All robotic ginger cat.

#mentalhealthmonday

Kerrbearlib Sounds like a busy day indeed! I hope you've been able to get some rest. 7d
