⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ◼️ I thoroughly enjoy this series and this book was no different. #NarniaReadAlong challenddd me to read a series I have wanted to for years. The ending was perfect. The fact that this was narrated by Patrick Stewart was icing on the cake.

I must admit I didn‘t remember much about this one from when I read it as a teen, but I still enjoyed The Last Battle and my re-read of this classic series. This was a great ending for a series, but also the beginning of something new, and most of all I appreciated the great messages of listening to your own voice about what‘s right and wrong and true and not letting anyone else define that for you.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ I also finished Tolkien‘s Histories of Middle Earth this year, so it was interesting to re-read this series in light of the fact that they were friends and often shared their work with each other and the other‘s in their Inkling‘s group. Some of the similarities were interesting, even some of the prejudices (oh those dark skinned bad guys🙄, I want to say thank goodness the world‘s changed since then, but that wouldn‘t be entirely true 🙁) (edited) 3y

Thanks @CaffeineAndCandy for organizing this. I definitely enjoyed reading the Narnia series. It was nice to step back into nostalgic memories that this series always brings in mind.
(Contd in comments ⬇️)

Rating: 3.5/5

i.besteph (Contd) The last battle was anti-climatic in one word. IMO, I was expecting a Lion and the Witch showdown. Something dramatic. Idk. 🤷🏽‍♀️😂 It was nice to be reunited with many of the characters from earlier on, especially the Pevensies. 3y

Love. Love. Love. Love. Love.

Honestly I could have done without chapters 1-12. But 13-16 make up for all that. I felt my heart would burst! How can one be sad at the end of one Narnia and the beginning of a whole other? The best happily ever after ever. ❤️

I thoroughly enjoyed my reread of the Chronicles of Narnia, and I even enjoyed some more than I remembered. However, I think it is my least favorite and only a light pick. The characters and action of the story did not catch and hold my attention as most of the others did. I understand the symbolism and that it‘s supposed go on to something better, but the end of Narnia just makes me sad.

It's been a while since I have done a #WeeklyForecast - things got really busy & then I found myself in a bit of a reading slump for a couple of weeks. It used to fuss me when that happened, but now I just indulge in terrible P&P variations, play some Red Dead Redemption 2, & wait for the reading urge to grab me again, which it invariably does lol I have been keeping up on my plethora of chapter-a-day reads (on the right) & enjoying them for ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) most part. I'm learning a lot about Moroccan culture for #FoodandLit, thoroughly enjoying Jane Fairfax, Harry Potter, & Narnia for those various buddy reads (#PemberLittens, #PotteraDay, #NarniaReadalong), although The Last Battle is always so hard for me to read!! The Little Mermaid, which also includes several other Anderson fairy tales, I'm just reading as the mood strikes me - the lavish interactive illustrations by MinaLima are ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) just delightful. Jane Austen Made Me Do It is a collection of short stories by various authors that are all Austen-influenced. I'm about halfway through & none of them have been above a 3* read for me - most of them are just kind of pointless & uninteresting. Upcoming reads for just me - the next batch of 87th Precinct books (SO CLOSE to being done with this 55 book series!), my pick for the new round of #LMPBC, a pick from my ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) #NewYearWhoDis list, & a Little Mermaid variation for the #FairyTaleReadalong. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of checking books off the TBR, especially considering my #BookSpinBingo list so far this month consists of three DNFs & all five free spaces! 😂

Bookwormjillk Too bad about Jane Austen Made Me Do It because that is an AMAZING title. 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Bookwormjillk - Right?? And I actually give JAFF a really wide leeway as far as what I find entertaining/fun to read, but so far these have been kind of universally boring. There have been a couple of fun ones, like a Persuasion story telling how Admiral& Mrs. Croft met, but there have also been a couple where JA's ghost comes to magically help a modern author, or a bizarre one where JA helps save some military secrets from a spy?? Just weird lol 3y
