This #WeekendReading I‘ve been catching up on #1619Read and Rage Becomes Her for #SheSaid, and This Life for #DeadPhilosophersSociety is up next. I hope to finish God Is Not One, my February #Roll100 pick. My goal for #20in4 is 20 chapters and I just finished the fourth, so I‘m behind but this cold and nasty day promises a chance to catch up.
#weekendreading @Andrew65
I‘m working my way through the Good Daughter, Thicker than Water, and They Never Learn. 😊
I‘m really hoping to make it through my two #LMPBC books for Round 13 today, since they are both short. Then, it‘s back to the next book in my read-all-the-le-carré personal challenge.
#weekendreading
Hey booklovers! This weekend I will be reading my Bible along with the #BibleBuddyRead - I‘m on Day 43! Also, I am on page 313 of 627 in The Viceroys, continuing my daily read of An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott (an ebook), The Storm Sister by Lucinda Riley (audiobook) and I started Genealogy by Mae Wood (a physical book). Wish me luck!
#weekendreading @Andrew65
I‘m still reading The Moonflower Vine, which is my #bookspin book this month. Hoping to finish this weekend. It is a slower paced book - a family saga, and at about half way through I‘m feeling invested in the characters, so the pace has picked up a bit. (I am usually a monogamous reader, so just the one book.🙂)
What are you reading, friends? ❤️📚
Here we are at the weekend again, what are you reading?
I am mixing it up with Lionheart by Ben Kane (audiobook), Death of a Policeman by M C Beaton and Local Gone Missing by Fiona Barton.
Okay, got it! This weekend I am still reading The Viceroys. I don‘t think I will ever be done with it. And, I have started Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston, the 3rd in her Once Upon a Con series. It‘s as fun as it‘s predecessors! Yay! Also, I started An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott, my Childrens Classic for February. I won‘t finish anything, but I‘m plugging away.
1. Days of wine and Roquefort, Harry Potter and the philosopher‘s stone, where the mountain meets the moon, and open book
2. The four winds by Kristin Hannah
3. Just relaxing and getting ready for the busy week I have coming up
#weekendreads @rachelsbrittain
It‘s the final weekend of January. Hmmm…I haven‘t read as much as I wanted but on I go. Going to finish The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston, continue with The Viceroys (which I haven‘t picked up for a few days), and I‘m going to read Ramona and Her Father by Beverly Cleary because it‘s short, funny and on my #BookSpin list! Happy Reading! 😊💕📚❄️☃️

Thanks for the tag, @wanderinglynn !
I‘m giving this a so-so instead of a pan because I was interested enough to finish it, but I didn‘t like any of the characters. They are all extremely spoiled and entitled. The mystery at the center — the death of Riley‘s husband — is wrapped up in an unbelievable manner, and the ending of the book is rushed. We‘re in the middle of a hurricane one second, and the next we‘re at the epilogue. I generally like MKA, but not this one. #audiowalk
Now I hate the main character too, along with her daughter. I hate the trope in a lot of women‘s fiction where the two characters who are going to become romantic partners first hate each other, and they do so because they make all kinds of assumptions based on absolutely nothing and refuse to even listen to each other. If the hate is based on something the other one said or did, I can deal, but it‘s irritating when there‘s no reason. #audiowalk
I read this one pretty quickly and it did keep my attention. However, I wasn‘t a fan of most of the characters especially the daughter. I also didn‘t like the big reveal and how it was set up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The bratty daughter behaved like a human when she was told something unpleasant. That was a surprise. I had to wait until 7:00pm before it got cool enough to go outside. The top right picture has nothing to do with books; it‘s a picture of my daughter that I really liked and thought I‘d share. #audiowalk
This book may be one of those books where I complain about the characters a lot. In this case, it‘s probably going to be about the mc and her daughter. I get that the daughter has issues, but the mother excuses all her bratty behavior by saying she can‘t tell if it‘s because she‘s just being awful or if it‘s because of her diabetes. I roll my eyes and say, “She‘s just a brat, and you enable it.” 🙄 #audiowalk
Riley Griggs‘ life is flipped upside down after the unexpected passing of her husband. Suddenly a single mother, Riley is about to solve the mystery of what really happened to her husband and if she ever knew him at all.
Cant put my finger on it, but I didn‘t love this book. It was an okay way to pass the time but I wasn‘t a huge fan of the characters. Some scenes were okay but unless you‘re a huge chick lit fan, I probably wouldn‘t recommend it.
1. Sold on a Monday by Kristina McMorris
2. The newest Bailey Cates magical bake shop book

Almost done The Weekenders, still trying to figure out the killer. If you‘re #LiterallyReadingAlong, if you like small town stories and the relationship between mothers and daughters, this one is for you.
I truly enjoyed ‘The Weekenders‘ by Mary Kay Andrews. Reminiscent of the southern themed romance novels I used to read as a pre-teen, ‘Weekenders‘ was the first book by Mary Kay Andrews that I have read. I finished the audio book version in a little more than a week. I would truly recommend this book as a beach read or even as a quick escape to life in the small town South. Great read.
