pickI wanted to love this more than I did. I think the biggest problems with this book revolve around the characters. Violet is completely unlikeable and the romance with her and Cyrus seems like it was an extra addition that wasn't completely fleshed out. The use of fairy tales was clever and I am curious to see where it goes so not a complete disappointment. #pop23 #readyourtbr #readyourshelves

pickEver since deciding to try and read only off my own shelves I've read a lot of Poirot and Marple and I was surprised to find that I enjoy Miss Marple more. I'm not normally one for short story collections but I enjoyed all of these. I liked the little hidden nods to the originals and they were all well executed without straying far from Christie's methods. The standouts were McManus and Bardugo for me.

pickAnother one for #Readyourtbr #readyourshelves . This has been on my bookshelf for years, and I'm so glad I finally picked it up. This is a great fantasy story about two sisters. I think I'll definitely give the rest of the trilogy a try.
