These are my November choices for
#readordonate
#fictionaltraveler
#thematiccozies

julieclair Fun choices! A Grilled Cheese Mystery series? Bring on the punny titles! 1mo
OriginalCyn620 @julieclair I love puns in general, so I like a good book title pun too! (edited) 1mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I don't usually find myself reaching for a cozy mystery, but browsing the covers in the bookstore leaves me laughing like a kid every time. Puns & pets are always welcome! 1mo

Hello, #FictionalTraveler (s)! It‘s November and we‘re heading to #Asia ! What will everyone be reading?

Also - I‘m trying to decide whether to continue #FictionalTraveler for another year. Please comment below to let me know your thoughts. 🤔🤓🙂

This month, I‘ll be reading The Travelling Cat Chronicles.

thebacklistbook Of Jade and Dragons by Amber Chen will fit nicely.

as far as continuing, do what works for you best.

Read4life I‘ve enjoyed this challenge. I‘ve noticed I‘ve been choosing books to fit all of the challenges I‘m involved with instead of reading more spontaneously. I‘ll be cutting back in 2026 but haven‘t decided which challenges/Buddy reads I‘m going to stay with. #ReadOrDonate works well with #Roll100 so if they continue I‘ll participate in them. 1mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile I really enjoyed this challenge, but if my further studies are approved for next year I'll be cutting way down on all my reading. 1mo

TheAromaofBooks I've been using this challenge to pull a book from my shelves, but I haven't been super consistent in reading them!!! So I've enjoyed it, but between this, Read or Donate, and Monthly Nonfiction, this is the one I've been the least consistent with reading 😂 1mo
Lauredhel Asia... I might go looking for a manga! 1mo
Lauredhel I've enjoyed this and the nonfiction challenge as a nudge to look outside my default reading, but you do you, whatever works 1mo

The Manningtree Witches | A. K. Blakemore

Pickpick

This book, based on the Essex Witch Trials of the 1640s, was truly spellbinding.(Forgive the pun; it‘s the most appropriate word I could think of.) I highly recommend listening on audio. I found the narrator‘s voice to be quietly mesmerizing, and was perfectly suited to this story. Although the story is sad, it conveys a real sense of what it was like to live in England during the witch craze of the Cromwellian era. Petrifying.

This was just a weird book. The first part was very entertaining, even if it was a little predictable but then it got almost too weird 🐈‍⬛

Hello Friends! What will everyone be reading and/or donating this month?

For those who want to continue, or join us, in chipping away at our overflowing bookshelves, I will be hosting #ReadOrDonate again in 2026. All are welcome! I‘ll also do a StoryGraph Challenge (hopefully soon) for those who like to plan and track.

For November, I‘ll be reading & donating: Joan is Okay.

TheBookHippie I am doing this you‘d think I‘d post!! 🤣 going through the magazines tonight! I just took down all the BOTM I‘ve not read to get through first! So one of those will for sure be November. 1mo
BookwormAHN I'm not sure yet but both of my October choices are a donate 😸 1mo

willaful I have a couple of books I own on the Ten Before the End, so those will be mine. Come Tell Me How You Live by Christie and The Flame by Leonard Cohen. 1mo
PuddleJumper I had a big purge this year. I've still got a few that I want to read before making a decision. All of my Rick Riordan will get read and donated too. I think November will be the Magnus Chase books 1mo
julieclair @TheBookHippie Glad you‘re still doing the magazines! Me too. For me, Oct-Nov-Dec are the hardest ones to let go. 1mo
julieclair @BarkingMadRead That one looks interesting! 1mo
julieclair @willaful Great idea to use 10 Before the End books! 1mo
julieclair @PuddleJumper Hooray for a big purge! 👍 1mo
TheBookHippie @julieclair oh I do so agree!!! So I cut out what I liked put it in my collage journal and recycled the rest in a gator that‘s fundraising. Just dropped October to them! (edited) 1mo
julieclair @TheBookHippie I wish I could drop them in a fundraiser bin. We just have to bring them to our town recycling center …. stopped doing the curbside recycling after we watched them dump the recycling into the truck along with the trash. 😡 1mo
TheBookHippie @julieclair oh how awful!!! We have one at the little Catholic school here for the nuns who retired care as they age. I‘m not Catholic but I think it‘s so lovely. Most schools and churches have them here paper gators. https://papergatorrecycling.com/start-your-own-program/ (edited) 1mo
julieclair @TheBookHippie Thanks for the link. Papergators looks awesome. None here in South Carolina, unfortunately. But you did get me searching for some other options, and this one looks interesting: https://www.terracycle.com/en-US , all kinds of household items. 1mo

This was a story-within-a-story situation, so between all the characters and the two stories, it was just a lot to keep up with! And I didn‘t really like the ending. I didn‘t love this one but didn‘t hate it either.

The Real Simple pile has shrunk and now fits in an actual magazine holder on the top of my “encyclopedia” bookcase. As a bonus, when I was going through my paperbacks for what to take to New Jersey last month, I decided to offload Bonfire of the Vanities. #monthlymagazineblitz #readordonate

@julieclair Here are my October picks for the reading challenges! 🎃

#readordonate - The Woman in the Library
#fictionaltraveler - Tom Lake (takes place in a cherry orchard and apparently the trees aren‘t only literal but also symbolic)
#thematiccozies - Chapter and Curse
