Mehso-so

Finished up this quick audiobook yesterday. I chose it for the #setinthe1970s category of the #LitsyReadingChallenge. It kept my interest, but I didn't love it as much as a lot of others did. I'd say 3.5 of 5⭐️

Hubby watching The Voice, boys playing with trucks, and I'm starting a new book! Happy Monday! #LRC12 #setinthe1970s

Zelma Sounds like a great evening! I am a week behind on The Voice. 😬 8y
Kris10 @Zelma I like the show but don't follow too closely. My hubby loves it so it's the perfect background noise when I read. 8y
Zelma @Kris10 I'm new to it but my mom hooked me on it a few seasons ago. 8y

Such a great story. It took me a week to read because I could tell instantly it was one to savor. Blanche Devereaux felt the same. She snuggled me the whole time I read it like she knew I'd need that comfort while reading this heartbreaking story of a family trying to find their way after tragedy. Thanks again @Alicia I loved it! #litsyreadingchallenge #setinthe1970s #dogsoflitsy

Laura317 Blanche Devereaux has such soulful eyes! 8y
ErinC @Laura317 That she does! She uses them to get whatever she wants. 8y

What a crazy story! I have only heard bits and pieces of this story (before my time) but I was fascinated with this book. What Hearst did, how she dealt with her situation and was she really "brainwashed"?!?! So interesting. #nonfiction #litsyreadingchallenge #setinthe1970s

The narrator for the audio version, Christina Moore, did an excellent interpretation of the emotions described in this epistolary account. The twists & turns in a teenager's life can be stressful. Being alert to their needs & actions is critical. This book proves it. #LetterG #LitsyAtoZ @BookishMarginalia #MountTBR #LitsyReadingChallenge @jessica #SetInThe1970s @EclecticReaders #Exclamation #MadLibReadingChallenge2017

Gina This book has always fascinated me. I did some research and find out and is not a memoir but a book written by I think a teacher who wanted to keep teenagers off of drugs and to show how bad they were which is why it is written by anonymous. But still a very good work on its own. 8y
Godmotherx5 @Gina I was surprised to hear the background when I learned of it. The fact that it has been banned is also amazing. 8y

This is a great little #bookwithinabook about a girl that gets hired by MI5 to be a spy because she is such a bookworm and has to infiltrate the literary circles. How cool is that for a job! #ReadJanuary

LeahBergen Ooo! This would be a good one for #LitsyReadingChallenge #Setinthe1970s 👍🏼 8y

Enjoying this so far. I'm geeking out a bit on the cancer treatment I'd never heard of. Cyanide kills pretty much everything I guess.

I've got a conference call in a minute, but for now, I'm listening. Great choice for #setinthe1970s for the #litsyreadingchallenge

drokka If I recall correctly the first cancer treatment in the UK was with mustard gas. It got rid of the cancer but killed everything else with it. I think chemo is still based on some of the ingredients in mustard gas. But I won't swear to that. 8y
Megabooks @drokka I can't remember which one, but yes, this product is still available in some form but not as widely used. 8y

I loved hearing the book read by Carrie and her daughter. Her journals perfectly capture what it is to be a new adult: full of insecurity, certainty and self-Doubt.
