This month has been such a whirlwind (my week off was at the expense of staying on top of an incredibly stressful time at work, so I paid for that last week), and being at #silentbookclub tonight is the cozy feeling of relief I needed. Books are the best.

ferskner @iread2much I hope so too! My dog doesn't allow me to be in the market but they were all sweethearts. 3w

iread2much @ferskner that is the best and worst thing about Akitas, they don‘t like other dogs (single sex pairings is the only recommendation) so I can never adopt other dogs - but that saves me from having like 7 big dogs 🐕 3w

New England's General Stores: Exploring an American Classic | Ted Reinstein

I just went to my first #SilentBookClub in a few years tonight. In every other book club I‘ve done the average age of participants is usually 55-70. This one was probably 23 or so. In my early forties there‘s no doubt I was by far the oldest. Also they did a lot of let‘s talk about our books before and after. I caught quite a few people recoiling at the idea. Might be some shy introverts at a silent book club. #introvert #bookclub

saguarosally @Bklover The ones I have been to have been at bookstore‘s with cafés so you just order whatever you want. The first ones I went to a few years ago skewed much older and much quieter, and the one I went to tonight was much younger and more talkative. 6y
