Bailedbailed

Had to bail, the opening was so bleak, I tried skimming forward a bit but I‘m still dreading reading on. Plus SK has been an idiot online this week 😂 wouldn‘t be a deal breaker but it‘s certainly not helping. As @dabbe says #hailthebail ! I‘ll check in with #losersclub & see what I missed @BarkingMadRead

BarkingMadRead This is a super dark book! I totally get it 4h

“We worshipped gods of our choosing. Satan. Christ. America. Celebrities. Capitalism. Clean living. The New England Patriots. La Croix.”

Soft Pick
The main character; Vesper, was great. The overall metaphor & message isn‘t particularly striking, 1/2 the plot seemed to be nonsense that was inconsequential to the main theme & resolution. But Harrison‘s mix of horror & humor is impeccable

With 6ish days left. We'll see how much I can read tomorrow.

I'm now 13 volumes into Naruto and it honestly has no business being as good as it is. Love it when people make quality media aimed toward youth that takes on deeper topics.

Took at look at our school‘s #LFL during field day. I wish I‘d offered to be the steward. There isn‘t one intentionally, though I don‘t understand exactly why. I should‘ve convinced the PTO. It‘s always a mess. He only has about a week of school left here, so I guess I won‘t worry about it now. 😂

“In the darkness, we find ourselves. But it's up to us to decide if we want to embrace the light.”

Loved this trilogy on audio - good narration.

There‘s a reason I don‘t read ghost stories but I couldn‘t stop reading this book. It scared me, but when seen from Nell‘s perspective it seemed almost cozy which was just plain crazy and not true which was even scarier. For such a short novel it packs a wallop. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

sarahbarnes Agreed - I love the way she wrote horror stories! 2d
Clare-Dragonfly Fabulous review! I never thought of it that way but it does seem cozy from Nell‘s perspective. 2d

At first I thought, cool a brother and sister duo hunting ghosts - a bit of a Supernatural vibe.
I truly tried to like this.
The main issue was I did not like Harper at all, she's whiny, self-scented and so needy.
The other thing is the story felt forced, and abnormal. Focusing on unnecessary details, while leaving important issues behind for no real reason other than to prolong the book.

At least it's off my shelf now. #donation

Short #audiowalk today because of the potential for rain, so I didn‘t get much listening in.
