Vesper escaped her family many years ago.
Who can blame her ? After all, her dad is Satan himself !!!

It only took me 16 years to get around to reading this!
The premise is a bit silly, but as usual, King creates a compelling story with fully fleshed out characters.

LoverOfLearning Just started my third SK book. Read the first two (Misery and Dolores Claiborne) within the last few months. Currently listening to Shawshake 5d
LoverOfLearning Oops Shawshank Redemption on audio. It's heavy. I'm guessing the movie is better? 5d
bookaholic1 @LoverOfLearning the movie is awesome, but in the book there is always more 4d
DavidDiamond @LoverOfLearning It's been awhile since I read the short story, but the movie is excellent. One of the better King adaptations. 4d

Getting more snow and ice soon, so needing some isolation stories. This and, possibly, The Worst Journey in the World.

So good. I can‘t say more without spoilers but I don‘t think I‘ve ever listened to an audiobook that fast. I went on extra walks so I could get more listening time. I don‘t read a lot of suspense, but after this I probably will pick up more. I‘ll definitely queue up the series. A bit morbid at times and some body horror vibes, so be warned if you‘re squeamish.

This is our February selection for the Constant Reader book club. I‘ve watched the original 1983 movie adaptation multiple times and first read the book in 2015 as an audiobook. This time, I decided to read my physical copy. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it again and liked it better the second time.

NatalieR @LoverOfLearning Misery was my first King book too! 😃 Glad you liked it. The Shining is one of my favorites. 6d
Soscha An online King Constant Reader group is doing the second Dark Tower book. I‘ve not read the first yet though. 😓 6d
sarahbarnes I liked this one too when I read it. He has some really good ones. 5d
LoverOfLearning @NatalieR that's funny! 💯 love that. That's a long book huh! Maybe I'll read it ! 5d
NatalieR @Soscha The Dark Tower series is quite a commitment. The first book was tough for me to get through. The rest were really good though. 5d
NatalieR @LoverOfLearning It‘s not too long. It‘s engaging and suspenseful. 🤓 5d
Soscha I read the Dead Zone some time ago. It‘s logged on my Goodreads but I didn‘t leave a written review. Is this the one with an insane POTUS candidate? Damn good but way too close to reality at this point in history, if I may say. 5d
NatalieR @Soscha 😅 Yep, that‘s it! While reading it, I kept thinking how It‘s VERY close to our reality. 5d
