One of the last books I read. Haven't read any new books since this one. Being a cricket enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed the first half reading all about this great fast bowler's career. The life story in the second half or post his career was painful to learn about. Happily he and his family went over to Australia.

I'd rate it 5/10 due to the first half and the statistics provided.

Ashes by Gail Haris is wonderful if you love a good slow burn (pun intended) romance. I could not put it down, it held my interest all the way through & left me wanting more of this amazing world. I went into it thinking that it would be a typical romance book, but it was so much more, there was action, thrills, mystery & of course romance on top of that. I loved it from start to finish & hope to read more by Gail Haris in the future.

Bookwormjillk I re-read this earlier this year. It was a totally different book as a 40 year old than it was as a recent college grad. Still liked it though. 7y

emilyhaldi I'm actually enjoying it, to my surprise! It's working for me as an offset to the other more serious books I'm reading. The fantasy elements are more palatable than they are in other books for whatever reason. Have you read it yet? 7y
