Netgalley posted this on Facebook today about how to write book reviews.
Chasing Books PR posted this on Instagram. I‘ve done a few of these things in my reviews before but not consistently. I‘ll have to remember to follow this formula for my book reviews. I have a hard time talking about books I enjoy. It‘s like my mind goes blank but maybe that hasn‘t always been true because with some books I‘ve enjoyed, I‘ve said more. I find I have a lot to say about books I don‘t like. Why am I like this?
Netgalley just posted this on Instagram. My feedback ratio is still not where I want it to be but that‘s because I‘ve DNF‘d a lot of the ARCs I‘ve had to review. I have 7 Netgalley ARCs left to review in April. I‘m interested to see how many I will finish and how many I‘ll DNF. If I don‘t like one of the books then I‘m not going to finish it or post a review but in order to improve my ratio, I need to finish more books and post reviews for them.
Any one else trying threads? My writer friend recommended it.,Would love to know your handle if you‘ll be writing about books…
Who do y‘all recommend following on Booktok? If you know of accounts with fun or helpful reviews like folks leave here, (including your own), let me know… #bookreviews #tiktok #bookish
Anyone on Storygraph? I just started using it and really like it so far! Same username as here, rjsthumbelina. Please add me bc I need friends 🙃
This is a momentous day, friends! I just filed my last outstanding NetGalley review. I‘m officially caught up!
I wish my feedback ratio was at 100%, but alas, I had a timing issue with a serial episode a few years back and declined to review it rather than post something super late. If I‘d known that‘d put me at 99% for ever and ever, I would‘ve reviewed it anyway, but it‘s too late now. Oh well.
So.... this happened today!!!!! I am still in shock and awww that an author liked a review I wrote!!!! I am beyond excited about this!!!!!

Sharing this blog from Chuck Wendig from last year because I keep seeing this happening on social media. I haven‘t seen this happen on Litsy, but wanted to share for those that Twitter and Instagram. It is okay to not like a book and say it in a review. It is also worthwhile to be kind and not tag the author. http://terribleminds.com/ramble/2019/05/07/hi-definitely-dont-tag-authors-in-you...
I‘ve read a bunch of books since the New Year that I haven‘t posted reviews about. I‘m going to work on catching up on reviews today, so sorry in advance for all the review spam!

Hello! I am brand new to the internet. I was told you were nice. I am a 6th-grade book dragon. That's way more fierce than a little old worm. I am working on my writing skills by reviewing the books I read. I read lots of middle grade to young adult books. I hope I can help other kids find books they like so they love to read too. Not many of my friends are as big into reading as I am.

Saw these recommendations in the bookstore today - such a neat and low key way to share a recommendation. ✔️
I‘ve gotten rather behind on posting reviews - I‘ve read/listened to these in the last few weeks
I‘m still very much enjoying Mrs. Jeffries (I‘ve started #5)
Borrower in the Night drew me in with its historical mystery (I may have to dig in to the next Vicky Bliss)
Joy in the Morning - Poor Bertie, it really wasn‘t his fault this time!
In the Teeth of Adversity - Don‘t read if you are iffy about dentists!
Death in the Tunnel - facts & deductions
Cuz some Sundays you just need a New York Times. And the Book review .Great essay by Sloan Crowley about her book shelving system. Some of you get it on line,I want to feel the paper. Not really in my budget, I usually sneak a peak at my public library.May your Sunday be sublime ,Littens.

Have you read any of these books or plan to read any?
To my fellow book reviewers, what is your biggest struggle in writing reviews? How do you overcome it?
My biggest struggle is writing reviews on the Masters. I struggle because what else could I possibly say about them, they're amazing... I tried to compensate by reviewing the book itself the way it's put together, the illustrations, even the binding.

3 indie books in my tbr-to be reviewed-pile this month. A huge thank you to everyone who is reading and reviewing books by indie authors! Indie authors don‘t have the budget to work with big review services. Readers‘ words are everything in the uphill climb of the writing biz. #reviewsmatter #indieauthors
I received an ARC directly from the author and I don't like the subject. The writing is okay (for a sizzling hot explicit romance) but the main topic the story is based on is pretty misogynistic.
I was not really aware of this, when I said I'd read the ARC.
Well, I've read it. It was short.
Now I don't know how honest my review (preferably on Amazon on release day - author's request) should be. All honest? Or hedging?
