#seasonsreadings2016 - #classiciveneverread

I've yet to read a novel by Victor Hugo. He's been on my list for a while now (as have hundreds of other classic authors. 😬)

Reviewsbylola I read a good portion of Les Mis but nothing else by Hugo. 7y
Betty I had a copy of my daddy's Les Mis. Enjoyable read! 7y

A #classicIveneverread. I know a lot of people that like it, but the plot has yet to appeal enough to me to start it. #seasonsreadings2016

Suzze This one has never made me think I might want to read it. 😁 7y
LauraBeth I recently watched the movie and loved it. I want to eventually read it. 7y

#classiciveneverread I have the full six volume Modern Library set of the Proust classic that I've never read. I keep thinking maybe it's something I'll read when I retire. #seasonsreadings2016

moranadatter Aspirational book purchases! Love those. 7y
Reviewsbylola I admit I have also never read Proust! 7y
Redwritinghood @kmdartist Yes, but I'm not sure if I'm being ambitious or crazy thinking I'll read these. Time will tell! 7y

This is embarrassing, but since I'm among the safe space that is Litsy, I'll admit it: I've never read Wuthering Heights. This might not be so bad, but I'm an English major and doing my graduate work in British Literature. 😂 I never had to read it for school (high school or college) and it just never showed up on my radar. I definitely need to read it for 2017!❤️📚#seasonsreadings2016 #classiciveneverread

lilycobalt Me neither. 7y
DaniRa Neither have I 😉 7y
Leelee08 @lilycobalt @DaniRa Yay! I'm not alone!😊 7y

Ashley31 I didn't read it until I had to teach it during my student teaching semester. I was an English major as well. Lol. Let us know what you think! 7y
TheLondonBookworm I did the same thing for ages with Jane Eyre- took me forever to get around to it 😂 7y
8little_paws I haven't either! 7y
Leelee08 @Ashley31 I will do that...thanks for making me feel better! 7y
Leelee08 @TheLondonBookworm I know the feeling😊 7y
Leelee08 @8little_paws 😊😊😊 7y
Ashley31 Sure thing @Leelee08 7y
JanuarieTimewalker13 Neither have I. I feel like this is some kind of Classics confessional. Lol 7y
Leelee08 @JanuarieTimewalker13 😂😂 It's making me feel so much better! 7y
KilgoreTrout You are not alone!! I even have it sitting on my shelf! Definitely this year... 7y
Leelee08 @KilgoreTrout Yes! We'll tackle it together!😀 7y
OrangeMooseReads I haven't read it either! 7y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Leelee08 hahahaha!! I just had to confess on @sprainedbrain post too!!! Is this like classics confessions day? 7y
Leelee08 @OrangeMooseReads 😀😀😀 7y
Leelee08 @JanuarieTimewalker13 I guess so! We've got a lot of reading to do...😂 7y
Viji Just read it this year and was very disappointed after having heard it touted as a great romance. Not much romance and a lot of whining 😞 7y
Leelee08 @Viji Lol. You never know until you try, right?🤓 7y
Gezemice I read it last year, after I read Jane Eyre, which I loved. This one, I really did not like. It seems people are split on it - hopefully you will love it. 7y
Gezemice @Viji Yep, same here. Whining is a good way to put it. 7y
Leelee08 @Gezemice Now I'm worried about it😂 Hopefully, it'll be ok....I might need to lower my expectations lol 7y
moranadatter I've never read it either. My undergrad degree was in English and I specialized in 19th Century British literature. I'll get around to it someday. 7y
sprainedbrain @JanuarieTimewalker13 @Leelee08 Since we are confessing, I didn't read Wuthering Heights until this year! I am doing my best to catch up on all the classics I have avoided until now. No shame! Lol 7y
Gezemice @sprainedbrain I am doing the same, for the last year and a half. This was one of them. 7y
Reviewsbylola English major here too. We watched bits of the movie in one of my college courses and I enjoyed it enough that I read it on my own time. I have a ton of classics though that I've ashamedly never read. 7y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @sprainedbrain no worries!!! I just set womankind back about 4 decades...you'll see under other post. 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker Nothing to be ashamed about! I've read it but couldn't finish it because I really disliked Heathcliff. I've never read Pride and Prejudice 🙈. 7y
Viji @leelee08, I'm still glad I finally read it. Carry on! 7y
aeeklund If you're a Tom Hardy fan, you really need to watch the adaptation where he plays Heathcliff... >.> 7y
