This is a re-read for my book club. I enjoyed it both times I read it but I was a bit more critical the second time around. It certainly made for a good book club discussion. 📖
I take the information in this book with a grain of salt, but as a therapist who sees several Islamic women struggling with their identity, this novel is eye opening. I am on the side of empowerment and self-confidence, and that‘s what this book is about. This is a movingly powerful book about American-Islamic women who are trying to find their place in the world.
NUMBER 13! 📚Continuing the countdown of my books, from 1st to 25th, THE JACKAL‘S MISTRESS. Today it‘s my 13th, SECRETS OF EDEN (2010), a novel about what looks like a domestic abuse murder-suicide. This was my third movie and starred a terrific John Stamos.
This was a great read, seems like an engaging straightforward read until you get to the end. The ending spun my head… had me wanting to back and read from the beginning just to prove what I had read was real.
Pucking Wild is the second book in the Jacksonville Rays series about a team of NHL hockey players. Enjoyed this and devoured it in two days despite a 603 page count. Just my person preference that a prefer characters that are more believable. It is just a minor thing and I...
I‘ve been a fan of Stevens‘ writing from the start! Reminiscent of SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY, this domestic suspense listen grips from the first minutes & I always found myself eager to get back it! Lindsay‘s marriage only has one good thing— her daughter, Sophie (the “good” being relative because I wanted shake sense into this dumb teen… seriously!). After running from her husband & his arrest, Lindsay‘s terrified when he reappears in their lives.
I found this feather during my walk yesterday. #darkblue #coverlove
