Another recommendation from my daughter which I was able to finish in a day. I‘ve never read this before and was surprised how short it was. A good, easy read and another ticked off my list.

My youngest daughter loves science and showed me some pages in her new book. We ended up reading the whole book together and finished it in a day! So engaging and fascinating . Full of facts and colourful infographics from the Earth‘s magnetic poles to spider venom and black holes. One interesting point to note is many women scientists were over looked and didn‘t revive accolades or recognition until after their death.
The books I read for #Booked2020 so far. My picks have been from all of the seasons 😁
#MillenialAuthor: The Priory of the Orange Tree
#CoverCrush: The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna
#FinishedInADay: Kingdom of Needle and Bone
#PanAsianAuthor: On Earth We‘re Briefly Gorgeous
#YAbyPOC: Color Me In
#AnimalOnCover: The Starless Sea
#ArmchairTravel: 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World
#BookClubWorthy: A History of Loneliness
Before Dracula - there was Carmilla! Carmilla was definitely Victorian. It read to me like an epistolary novel mixed with a manor novel mixed with gothic horror. The difference being that it was very short (Little Dorrit anyone). And it was oddly erotic. But I think that is a hallmark of this writing period and style? Thoughts? It was a bit jarring to my modern sensibilities, but I liked it on the whole.

Even for a middle grade horror novel, I think Hahn phoned this one in, especially when Took was so creepy and fleshed out. A ghost is locked in an attic room of a crumbling house when a family with a lovely daughter arrives to renovate. While my daughter was up with the flu at 5am yesterday, I managed to plow through this for #FinishedInADay for #Booked2020 #Winter.

This was a fantastic #NonFictionGraphicNovel It is the story of the Donner Party told by the soon to be hanged Nathan Hale to his executioners. The story is really well researched & just well done. I'm planning on checking out a few other in this series & buying some for my nephews.

Read 'till 1am because l really wanted to finish, but l'm not really sure what l think of this story. It's actually something that really happened to the author, when he was a kid, in Munich, at a time when the Nazi Party was rising and just one of many similar movements.
Interesting, but not sure what the point was.

Good book especially for those who are just starting out with #bulletjounaling or trying to get back into it/in a slump (me!). There were some great ideas in there and layout ideas and examples. #bujo #bulletjournal #booked2020 #finishedinaday #afbreadingchallenge2020 #standalone
Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant is a Master with words. She knows how to pack a lot into a few pages, and how to make the reader think and wonder about what she wrote. At least that the effect she has on me. Although, I did wish for a bit more insight into the characters‘ thoughts and feelings, but overall a good read!
