pickI just devoured this book. Once I started reading, I was completely transported to 1890s Victorian London, and I did not want to leave. Sarah Perry painted a vivid, lush story of science, faith, superstition, medicine & religion. I found the characters engaging and the storyline fascinating. I enjoyed the historical components making this book even richer in detail and depth. Can not wait to read her new book Melmoth.
