This year has been a real dry spell for me where literature is concerned. To make my year-end goal, I'll have to read 2 books a week for 3 months. Not impossible, but certainly intimidating.

I still have about 4 hours left but I think I'm taking the weekend off from this book-knowing what's about to happen. Hoping to catch myself back up on life & Litsy this weekend.📚

I am a fan of Joyce Carol Oates, but this book was beyond anything that I could stomach. Based on the real serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, It is the only book I DNF. When I saw today's prompt for #septembowie, I decided to use it for both yesterday's and today's prompt. #icantread #scarymonstersandsupercreeps

#SeptemBowie #day28 #ICantRead 😭😭😭 I have all these amazing books doublestacked in my #MountTBR shelves with more preorders & books coming & I still can't read much until I get my new glasses(hopefully🤞)in another week.Though the huge cobwebby floaters are still there, I have hope they will dissipate on their own so I don't have to have laser surgery on my eyes😱Not being able to read for more than an hour without headaches is killing me!

This is a photo of medals flung at the Capital by Vietnam Veterans Against the War.Nixon decided it was good idea to fence the vets out of the grounds .So the vets saw fit to fling them ,and on a live mic ,tell people why they were doing it. 🎖

I challenged myself to post an #amazing book I hadn't mentioned before.

Latro is a Roman mercenary who suffered a severe head injury in battle. His memory is wiped clean every time he sleeps so he wears a scroll of papyrus around his neck labeled READ THIS EACH DAY and he makes a record of the day's events, which forms the book.

Also due to the injury he can see the Roman gods and goddesses at work in the world that others cannot. #SeptemBowie
