I am constantly forgetting that I like non fiction until I pick one up to read.
I should really work on picking them up more often….

This was my non-fiction pick for July. I got it based on a review from a book account on Instagram. In fact I don't know much if anything about Patti Smith, but I enjoyed reading about her thoughts and musings! #nonfictionbooks

Some of my favorite non fiction reads. Each was a delightful, informative surprise. Love books like that. 💕📚

The part of this adventure story that captured me most wasn‘t the adventure; it‘s what came after. The aftermath of discovering a “lost city” and a “new civilization” is fraught with hard calls and lots of consequence. Interesting nonfiction for sure!
Finished listening to The Clancys of Queens today. This one is read by the author, which (in this case) is a real strength. The memoir is funny and poignant, and her voice (both her real voice and her voice as a writer) is vivid and compelling. Tara Clancy‘s movement between her Italian and Irish families in Queens and a totally different lifestyle on the weekend (she‘s picked up by a limo each weekend!) is fascinating. I highly recommend it!
Always love getting Book of the Month Club mail! Can‘t wait to read The Girl Who Smiled Beads.
