When I added this one to my TBR, I thought it was a memoir by Maggie Smith (Actress)
But on closer inspection I found that it was in fact not her, but Poet Maggie Smith. So I had to change my mindset before I started listening. I've never read any of her work, but as soon as I hit play I was drawn in by her lyrical writing.
This is a deep, sad story of love, loss, and how to keep on keeping on. How to turn a Hurt into something Beautiful.

Gosh - this book gave so much. Wonderful complex parent / child relationships. Characters with flaws that never default to stereotypes / cliches. Despair but also hope. I really loved it. A brilliant reminder that everyone has their own story. I loved and was almost a 5 star but for annoying punctuation and a desperate desire to see and know more of Leslie who I loved. I‘m also claiming it for a #pantone2023 for #pinkcosmos

I loved this book. It revolves around Isobel a young seamstress who has just made it to Salem. There she become the infatuation of Nathaniel Hawthorne.

This is another one off @xicanti ‘s #auldlangspine list that‘s been on my TBR for quite awhile. And I am so, so very glad I picked it up this month. I‘m a sucker for a good coming of age/figuring out who you are story. Felix goes through a lot and I loved the way art played a big part in helping him work through it. I could not put this one down once I started and cried lots of happy tears at the end. All the love for this one! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This had the most amazing first and last lines of anything I‘ve ever read! And while it was a character novel about unlikeable characters, the gorgeous writing style and incisive insights into these people‘s lives made it a joy to read. I kept thinking it would make such an incredible stage play, so I can‘t wait to see Sophia Coppola‘s screen adaptation. #Pantone2023 #PinkCosmos #Roll100 #Sharreadathon #20in4

Whenever I love a book as much as I did this one; I don't know how to say exactly why I loved it so much.
To me everything about this book was perfect!
Will think about it and write a proper review when my heart allows.
