This book was just okay. It has a cool premise of Hal, a writer who receives an exclusive invitation to go with a movie group to the Cannes Film Fest in the 1950s. There is a second plot, that of the journal that the movie is based on. The journal is actually more interesting, and the love affair between Hal and Stella is rather predictable, and the twist ending is predictable.

While I found a few helpful tips here, bit the majority of this book was Mr. Martin over-explaining. For every lesson there are three unnecessary examples.

This is also very focused on the Catholic Jesuit sect, and not as the title indicates "for everyone"

I've enjoyed this one more than I did the first one. The pace is just really slow and for the best part of the book it feels like nothing is happening.... And then in the last 80 pages I couldn't put the book down. And now I have to read the next one. I NEED TO KNOW!

Henry writes great rom-coms! A fun read especially as we are still stuck in the midst of winter (hello 15” of snow yesterday). It felt lovely to escape with Poppy and Alex on their various vacations while outside it was cold, snowy and icy.

Poppy and Alex were a fun duo and I really liked how Henry weaves the threads of their past vacations through what was happening now to bring the story together at the end. 4⭐️

I finished Primer! This is a really fun YA superhero graphic novel involving foster family, superpower-inducing skin paints, and skeevy government military science projects.

I just fell in love and had my heart broken several times over all in one rush. There‘s nothing unpredictable here, yet somehow watching it unfold was still surprising. It takes on some major cliches, but it does so in a way that is completely without artifice. TJRs considerable mastery at bringing her characters to life is going to leave me with a major book hangover from this one.
