repost for @PuddleJumper

#RealmofElderlings will be reading The Mad Ship during September and October. This is the second in the Liveship Traders trilogy

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and I'm excited to get stuck into the second

How is everyone doing? It's a big change from the Farseer trilogy.

Ruthiella Sure. That‘ll work. 🙏 1w
PuddleJumper @Ruthiella No worries, I've done that and made a note 1w
kelli7990 I‘ve started Royal Assassin but I haven‘t gotten back to reading it again. I‘ve been catching up on ARCs this month. 7d

I only have one goal for the #SummersEnd #ReadAThon:
To catch up on #RealmOfElderlings

It's 897 pages, so it should keep me occupied for the whole Readathon.

Pickpick

3½✨
I know this one isn't officially part of the #RealmOfElderlings read-a-long.

However, after discovering the Piebald Prince in Assassin's Quest and realizing there's a short story about him, I simply had to find out more.

As with everything I've read by Hobb this is a well tailored little tale of the first Witted Prince to take a short rule over the Six Duchies.
⬇️ continue ⬇️

Enchanted_Bibliophile I believe it marks the beginning of all the Wit Magic rumors and misconceptions we've encountered in the Farseer trilogy.
There's drama, cunning and at the heart of all; of course there's Love.

I'll definitely recommend this to all my fellow #RealmOfElderlings reading buddies.

Here‘s how I‘m doing on the #realmofelderlings buddy read since I haven‘t talked about it in a while. I‘m behind on this buddy read too. I‘ve only read the prologue of this book. I haven‘t had time to read this book because I have too many books in progress. It‘s okay if I take my time with these books though because this is a 16 book series and all of the books are over 500 pages so it‘ll probably take 2 years to finish reading these books.

We are at the half way mark with Ship of Magic for #RealmofElderlings buddy read or challenge

Who has started/finished the book?

How are you finding it in comparison to the Farseer trilogy?

Use spoiler tags if necessary!

We'll be reading Ship of Magic through August and then Mad Ship September/October

Everyone is doing great, these are chonky chonky books. I've really enjoyed the buddy read on SG and seeing what people think as the read

Laughterhp Still waiting on my library hold to come in! 1mo
willaful I started it but was traveling and found it hard to concentrate. I may just not have it in me for these right now, but I will try again.

kelli7990 I‘m still reading Royal Assassin. I‘ve started Royal Assassin but I‘ve only read the prologue. (edited) 1mo
PuddleJumper @kelli7990 I'm going to go back to Farseer trilogy. I much prefer the Liveship Traders and I don't need the misery of Fitz's life right now! 🤣 1mo
Luke-XVX Can you un tag me? I‘ve no idea when I‘ll get to these books unfortunately 1mo
PuddleJumper @Luke-XVX No worries, I've taken you off the list 1mo
Luke-XVX Thanks! Enjoy 1mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile I'm a bit behind on starting this one. I had anaesthesia and always struggle to get back into reading afterwards. 1mo

My favourite fantasy series. First time I've re-read it in over 10 years and it's still as good as I remembered.

I do need a break before the next book. Maybe something cheerful and not as complex?

This is me. I want all the women in his life to Murder on the Orient Express him.

I actually can't remember what happens to him and it's making me anxious that he's going to stick around and make things so much worse

Ruthiella Don‘t worry. He will get his just rewards. But the reader (and everyone around him) has to suffer him for a long while. 2mo
PuddleJumper @Ruthiella 🥳🥳 Good to know! I figured he'd be around for a while. I just ... Everytime he appears there's so much rage 2mo

Look at this stunning 90s book cover by Michael Whelan. Magical.

Here is the book club's leaderboard for the Farseer Trilogy. I know we lost a few which I understand, sometimes this trilogy is a merry go round of pain and 1st POV doesn't work for everyone.

Do you agree with the ratings? What was your favourite book?

PuddleJumper Assassin's Quest is my favourite because things change and there's new things going on. The first two books sometimes felt a bit oppressive

Susanita Beautiful cover 2mo
Ruthiella It‘s been ten years since I read the first trilogy, but I understand the drop. I remember the third book in particular felt overly long to me. But in retrospect, I like them all equally. Hobb is telling a bigger story and as a reader, I can wait for it. 2mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile Assassin's Quest is also my favourite! It kinda feels like Hobb is the "building" type author, where the first two books were used as building blocks to crown it with the third. I'm very excited to see where she'll take us next. 2mo
