TheAromaofBooks This is actually interesting to read after Lark Rise to Candleford. I feel like a lot of the things we read about in that book as generalities are happening in this story. 8mo

mcctrish @TheAromaofBooks this is the story that goes with Lark Rise‘s accounting lists. Also I‘m some mad at Glegg calling in her money and poor sister Tulliver living in squalor has to figure out some way to magic cost savings out of thin air 8mo

julieclair I never could get into Lark Rise… but I‘m liking this book. I keep hoping I‘ll someday finish Lark Rise, but I must admit that hearing that it contains accounting lists is not motivating me, @mcctrish ! 😂 8mo

ElizaMarie I‘m glad Tully had a change of heart and not insisted to call in the debt. 8 kids and no money - there is no way sis could have survived - unless she sold the kiddos 8mo

Leftcoastzen I think he has his pride & would like to pay her off . So maybe he could tell her off !😁 Tully saw how tight it was for his sister with all those mouths to feed and couldn‘t do it . I liked the description of the basic poorness of the area as he rides in. Foreshadowing that there isn‘t money to be had . 8mo
