Extra hour so why not start another documentary for #nfNov. This time it‘s Netflix‘s The Crystal Calls (Making the Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance).

And so far #TIL the Henson company originally tried to do CG gelding with puppet skeksis. IMO, it wasn‘t the same. Despite the fact that CGI can do so much more action-wise, I‘m glad they didn‘t go total CGI.

And it just reinforces Jim Henson‘s genius.

I agree the #WorldNeedsaVillain and you making me choose just one!!!

So I will go with my fav childhood villain: Chamberlain!

He gets a bit of a redemption ark in the movie, but that is completely blown away by the sequel graphic novels. Plus, now that I have shown Josh the love the the Dark Crystal, he constantly quote Chamberlain.

Plus he almost looks like he could be a Bond villain.

Got over my cold enough to catch the end of Faeriecon. Wendy & Toby Froud signed my Visual History of the Dark Crystal book along with the author. They were so exquisitely kind. Also picked up Cory Godbey‘s Labyrinth & Dark Crystal children‘s books because they were too pretty not to.

Aaah, I love artists and writers so much.

I‘ve been talking The Dark Crystal with friends and now it‘s all I can think about. Wondering whether to order Chinese and watch the film again or to read the novelisation.
I can‘t put into words how much I love this film. It was talking favourite books yesterday that did it, because it‘s same for films and this one holds my heart and soul in its small Gelfling hands.

It actually makes me incredibly sad how wrecked this book is. It's quite a big book and took a lot of battering through a few house moves as a student. It's so beautiful inside. #crimesagainstcovers #mostwreckedbook

I am living for this book right now. I am so excited to finally be reading it and don‘t want to put it down, whilst at the same time never wanting it to end. I discovered this fabulous series at Christmas when only the first was available and ordered this one (the second book) as soon as it was released. I read Shadows of the Dark Crystal in January and found unputdownable. I am an avid fan of Brian Froud and The Dark Crystal so when I discovered the novel I couldn‘t resist.
