5⭐️

This book touches on a wide variety of diverse topics including trauma, depression, pregnancy, death (of others in your life), relationships, guilt and more. It is an emotional rollercoaster that pushes you to think more on yourself and reflect how your actions influences those around you but also how the past impacts your future (even if you don't have a direct connection to it).

Yes I‘m a notorious#crybaby but this book! There are a couple of scenes that gave me a proper #uglycry !

But this book also has a special place in my heart. When I moved to the US (10 yrs ago) I knew no-one but my hubby‘s family. I missed my friends terribly. So I joined an IRL bookclub, and met the most amazing women, many of whom I now call family. And now I run it too! This was the first book I read with them.💕

Tex2Flo It wasn‘t a book that I loved, but am thrilled that it brought you to us 💕💕💕 13mo

The Animators: A Novel | Kayla Rae Whitaker

Thanks for the giveaway @nomadreader

The first book that springs to mind when I think of #uglycry is The Animators. I love love LOVED this book! The friendship between Mel and Sharon was so raw and true to me. I felt like this book guy punched me, in a good way. 💔💔💔

nomadreader I actually stopped reading this one in Thailand because I was homesick and feeling too many feelings, but I loved the first half. I have to pick it up again to finish this summer! 2y

The highest compliment I can give a novel is telling you it made me #uglycry more than once. This book broke my heart with its beauty, tragedy and humanity. And I want one of you to read it, so I'm giving away my gently read galley. To enter this #giveaway, 1. post on Litsy 2. Tell me the last book that made you cry 3. A Little Life: A Novel | Hanya Yanagihara

#Aprella Day 18: So these are the top two novels that definitely #KeptMeCrying - the one on the left is a slow burn that will make the reader experience vicarious trauma afterwards. The one on the right made me use up an entire box of tissues that my daughter was worried after seeing me inconsolable while reading a book.

Cinfhen Both of these were on my list too😭😭#UglyCry 2y
Susanbones The Book Thief is def a TBR now and OMG A LITTLE LIFE IS THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD. My heart kept breaking every chapter. 2y
Mdargusch I haven‘t read A Little Life but as far as the The Book Thief goes - 😭 2y

There are 3 books.
#MeBeforeYou by #JojoMoyes
#IntoYourHurricane by #JillianElizabeth
#SivaDama (The Grey Lady) by #SabinaŠtrubelj
Today theme is #madeyoucry . These are my #uglycry last year. All 3 are very emotional and realistic books. And all are contemporary romance. If you love that kind of books you should read it! I highly recommended these books.

For some reason I was reading this in a pub a few years ago and believe me when I say don't do that. I weeped and ugly cried and it was all too much that I had to finish it there and then. So emotional. #balling #uglycry

Shepherd's Crown: Number 41 of the Discworld Novels Series | Terry Pratchett, Anonymous, Terence David John Pratchett
post image
Pickpick

This is very bittersweet, being the last book by Terry Pratchett. But it's fun, serious and silly, just as you would expect from a Discworld novel. And the way the first event in the book is dealt with (sorry for being cryptic, trying to avoid spoilers) is magnificent.

Is been a long time since I finished a book in less than a week... This took me two days. Definitely recommended!

MariaW I cried so much over Granny!!!! I couldn't cope with it for a few hours. But it was kind of appropriate, being his last book. #speakhisname (edited) 3y
RhubarbandGin @MariaW it was sad, but also appropriate, if that makes sense. No fuss and bother, just as you would expect from Granny. I think one of the hardest parts to read was the Afterword, when I finally realised that this was it and there wouldn't be any new stories. #uglycry 3y
MariaW @RhubarbandGin You're so right. At least he left us with a lot of stories to reread again and again. 3y
