Today‘s beach read.

Having just recently taken a road trip with my doodle, I had to read this one by my favorite author. I loved the peek at America in the early 1960s. In a lot of ways, not much has changed!

Plowed through the audiobook. I did not see that coming!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Easily one of the best books I‘ve read all year. 🇮🇪

I listened to an audio recording while I read the play, and I think the actors helped me get much more out of the story than I would have just reading it. Reading it was nice too though, because stage directions add so many more details. This was my first time reading this one—it was with my juniors over distance learning.

Well, I finally finished the last of the library books I was able to check out pre-quarantine. There was one point when I considered abandoning it—it was a bit of a slog at times. In the end, I was glad I stuck with it. 4 stars!

My Mother‘s Day gift (to myself! Ha ha) and to my mom. Can‘t wait to read it and discuss it with her!

Anytime my kids are assigned a novel for school that I‘ve never read, I like to read it too. There is definitely an outdated feel to this one, but I liked the themes it explored.

I had low expectations because I had seen people say they hated this book/ hated the ending. I couldn‘t put it down! I read about 85% of it yesterday and finished it up this morning. Yes, not everything ends up exactly how you might like it to. Such is life! Great book.

I had to binge read the rest of this today because I wasn‘t done and we already started watching the Hulu series. AAAHHHH!!!! So so so good! I loved everything about this book! Now to binge the rest of the show!

I wish I knew someone who just finished this one too because I want to talk to someone about the ending!!! So good!

“In the beginning, after he labored over the heavens and the earth, the light and the dark, the land and the sea and all living things that dwell therein, after he created man and woman and before he rested, I believe God gave us one final gift. Lest we forget the divine source of all that beauty, he gave us stories.” This book reminded me of a modern day Huckleberry Finn. I got absolutely lost in these characters and their story. Lovely writing.

It may be a small book, but it is not a light read. It‘s important to read about others‘ experiences to help fight against #racism in America today.

It seems like I remembered enjoying his other books more than I enjoyed this one. It was alright. 💁🏽‍♀️

Just starting this one. I bought it knowing nothing about it, other than hearing people say they were very excited that Reese chose it for her book club. I honestly thought it was going to be fiction. 💁🏽‍♀️ It‘s raining outside and I‘m curled up on my bed. Perfect reading afternoon.

This one is a very heavy read. Ultimately she stands in triumph, but it‘s after being dragged through hell over and over again. God bless people like the two Swedish bikers. Look for the helpers!

Just finished my fourth book of quarantine 2020! Thank God for the escape books provide. This one was easy to get lost in. I am obsessed with this cover design!

Reading about the great pains women went to to maintain and run a traveling library—and here I am reading a digital copy that I checked out virtually. I have enormous respect for people who ran, and who still today run, mobile libraries. As for the storyline, I‘d give it 4 stars. The characters are a little predictable/ stereotypical, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. (Not my photo—let me know who I can credit!)

Re-read with my sophomores. “This story is neither an accusation nor a confession, and least of all an adventure, for death is not an adventure to those who stand face to face with it. It will try simply to tell of a generation of men who, even though they may have escaped its shells, were destroyed by the war...”

I picked this one never having heard of Ali Wong, so I wasn‘t sure what I was getting into. I liked the cover and the idea of letters to her daughters. I listened to the audiobook which was read by the author. There are some funny stories, some sweet stories, and definitely a very raunchy brand of comedy. It was alright.

Teen angst and a wonderfully written main character—I‘m here for it! It‘s also a fun little treat after finishing a book to then watch the movie.

I finished this book a few hours ago, but my head is still with these people. I loved this book! There are such great stories in here that so beautifully illustrate our shared human experience. 10/10 would recommend!

I read this one during a Hemingway unit with my juniors. Hemingway knows how to turn a beautiful phrase.

I have no idea why I waited until I was in my 40s to read this one. It is a beautifully written book (and the 2019 movie was amazing as well!)

The whole book is so good but the last chapter, which was memoir as opposed to the rest of the book which was more historical fiction, gave me goosebumps! Incredible!

The story of these women is absolutely haunting. I first heard their story on the My Favorite Murder podcast, and I immediately had to read the book. Horrifying!!!

Just re-read this one. I wish I could read it for the first time again! The audiobook is wonderful!

Just finished reading this one, although I still plan on listening to the audiobook, because, Tom Hanks. This was my first Ann Patchett novel—I love her writing!

“It's a miracle to realize that somebody loves you.” —James Baldwin I read this one, then immediately watched the movie right afterward. It‘s a beautiful, heart-wrenching read. Speaks to the power of love and strong families.

The audiobook was fantastic. This memoir had it all—comedy, tragedy, and a lot of heart.

When the most religious person in the story makes the douchiest comments. 🤦🏽‍♀️

A little historical fiction, a little mystery. Loved it!
