Pickpick

I swear, reading a Jenny Colgan novel is a balm to my very soul! I love how her novels, filled with lovely, funny characters and so much heart it could burst, draw me in and make me want to stay in that world forever. I‘m so sad when they‘re over! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

mcctrish I love Jenny Colgan so much 17h

Excited for my #bookspin. I preordered this on audiobook the second I saw it was coming out! I love Vera. I have no idea what I‘m going to do for The StoryGraph challenge, though. I have 9 countries to choose from. I‘m leaning towards Egypt, though, for Arab American Heritage Month.

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! Enjoy!! 1w
Aims42 I am finding it so hard to patiently wait for my library hold of this to come in 😂 C‘mon!!! I love Vera too and can‘t wait to read her latest adventure 1w

Good morning, everyone! The moment you have all been waiting for!! Our official #BookSpin number is THIRTEEN! Our official #DoubleSpin number is FOUR!! I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at everyone‘s lists & am really looking forward to seeing your reviews!!

My next post will be the #BookSpinBingo card. I am NOT tagging anyone on that post!! If you want to bingo, please just check my profile for the card. This saves me having to double tag ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont‘d) everyone/keep track of who wants to bingo and who doesn‘t!!

I use the same tag list for the entire year, so if you would like to be added or removed, please just let me know. It takes me a while to tag everyone (there are a lot of you!!!) so I will add “FINISHED” to the last tag batch so you know whether or not I missed you. If I did, it was completely inadvertent. Sometimes I just spell someone‘s username wrong. ⬇

This is a first for me of finding out about the Knit for Food knitathon. When the day arrives I plan on making a donation to the Yarn Harbor team. Are there any #litsycrafters who have known about this event before? Or like me just learning about it in 2025?

Butterfinger I have never heard of it. I knit. Thank you for sharing. 2w

I don‘t buy many knitting books because my library has a great collection, but they don‘t own this one, it‘s full of intriguing patterns (including leaves!), and it was $1.50 at the thrift store.

I also got cherry turnovers from the grocery store on the way home. Between the dogs‘ morning exercise and my trek to the thrift store, I‘ve done 9km so far today. Pastries are necessary.

dabbe Yum! Enjoy; you've earned it! 🍒❣️🍒 2w
xicanti @dabbe I‘ll probably even eat another one after supper, responsible calorie intake be damned. 2w

Lucy arrives in Oxford for a visit with her beloved grandmother, only to find that the old woman has died and left her knitting shop to her. But Lucy knows nothing about running a business and can‘t knit! Within a few days, she learns that there‘s a vampire knitting club at the shop, her grandmother didn‘t die of natural causes, a family secret, and she‘s now in danger. Really enjoyed this one!

Getting back into crochet is more Year of Dishcloths than Crochet Magic at this point, but Crochet Taxidermy is the life goal I didn‘t see coming. 😂😂

I'm shocked I haven't heard of this book until now. As a handspinner myself, I was pretty familiar with the subject matter. That said, I still learned a lot along the way. I enjoyed her writing and thoughts and reflections on the industry. And yes, this is just a fraction of my own wool stash. The grey in the middle is jacob wool that is slated to become a sweater. My daughter is going to knit it for me once I'm finished spinning it.

julesG ❤️❤️❤️ I'm admiring your stash. And now I want to find my drop spindle and buy some yarn. 2mo
julesG Fleece!!! My brain was already thinking of yarn and knitting 2mo
bookishbitch @JulesGreads I understand! My brain does that too. What kind of drop spindle do you use? 2mo

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Fiber stash! 😍 I‘ve been knitting more than spinning lately but now I too am itching to dig out one of my spindles and fleece. 😅 I also need to get my hands on this book. Stacked for sure! 1mo
bookishbitch @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm what kind of spindles do you use? I'm a high whorler. 1mo
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm @bookishbitch I have a bottom whorl and a Navajo spindle. I‘m still getting the hang of the big Navajo one. 😅 1mo
bookishbitch @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I learned on a bottom whorl. I've not tried a Navajo yet. It looks challenging. 1mo
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm When I bought it, the shop owner was so excited, she said, “I‘ve never met anyone that knew how to use it.” I had to break it to her that I didn‘t, but I had watched some YouTube videos and figured; since I‘d already taught myself how to spin with a drop spindle; I could learn. I have yet to feel like I‘ve got the hang of it. It‘s a whole different animal. It‘s not something I can easily carry and pull out anywhere, so it‘s strictly a home hobby. 1mo
bookishbitch @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm YouTube is amazingly helpful! 1mo
