pickAnother fun volume about my favorite campers. Issue 9 was unique in that everyone around the campfire had different drawing styles for each storyteller's story. The other three issues had the group of 5 split up. On a rare free day, Mal & Molly try to have a nice picnic and fall into an adventure while April, Jo, & Ripley stay behind to try to earn badges for the more mundane, non-supernatural tasks offered up for them to explore. ⬇️
Getting the last section read as the evening winds down at my in-laws' house. Reading a book about summer camp outside by torchlight feels appropriate.
First Line in Chapter 9:
“Things that go bump in the night, it‘s basically the best time to go bump if one had to choose a timeframe.”
It has been quite the week so I splurged and picked up another Lumberjanes to read tonight.

Compared to the other two volumes, Lumberjanes vol. 3 was just an ok read with nothing to write home about. A similar sense of friendship was there as seen in the first two volumes but the adventure part was kind of lack-lustre.

This had the same fun atmosphere as the previous novels but it didn‘t have as much of a sense of adventure as the others even though there was one. I really like seeing the separation of the group because we got to see more of the interactions of the girls. Mal and Molly are absolutely adorable and I can‘t wait to see more of them in the future!

pickOk, they‘re growing on me. The plot is still wacky, not really my thing, but we got more character explication/growth here and I enjoyed that. The library has a bunch (is this series complete?) and they go fast so I‘m not losing anything by continuing, and it boosts my reading totals. Book number seven of 2019.

pickI love the storyline in these, but the grammatical errors in the Lumberjane handbook parts continue to bug me. If you‘re going to put a bunch of text there, I‘m going to read it. It would be nice if someone proofread it.

Really into MG/kid-friendly graphic novels lately, and the Lumberjanes are just the best! (Both the books, and the hard core scouts.) If there was a Lumberjane troop around that I could join to make cool friends and deal with supernatural shenanigans, I'd be there in a minute.
Fav line: "What's the story, Wishbone?" (#90skid)
Fav character: The fierce, spunky bundle of hyperactivity and heart eyes for everything, little miss Ripley, of course
pickAnother fun read! I was a little annoyed that the art was changed but it eventually grew on me while I was reading. This series is just getting better and better! The adventures are hilarious and the girls are just so much fun!

pickI adored the split storyline in this book and the focus on Mal and Molly. And of course I love every moment that Bubbles the raccoon isn't a hat. HOWEVER... I'm really not crazy about the change in art style. Maybe it'll grow on me, but right now I'm rather meh about it. Still a pick overall though, because the story was great.

pickThis is another great volume in the Lumberjanes series! The stories are a bit more disjointed in this book, but they're still full of action, comedy, and dynamic ladies.I really enjoyed the spotlight on Molly and Mal in this one. Can't wait to read the next volume! #comics
