This book was just so lovely and fluffy! Grace is a perfumer who gets caught up in a royal plot and Stephen is a Paladin dealing with lingering mental health issues from the death of his god. They meet when he saves her from charges of grave robbing and then he later saves her from fainting in public by dragging her into another room and accidentally foiling an assassination. (Cont.)

This is such a lovely and layered romance. Kriya Rajasekar is a lawyer who's moved to a new Law Firm and then been asked to share an office with her work nemesis Charles Goh. Every time something terrible/awkward happens to Kriya, Charles has been there, but it all changes once she realized how lost her life has become. (Cont.)

Often, people are so focused on finding the love of their lives, they don't pay attention to the rest of the love available around them. This book is an ode to the love between best friends and a discussion of how to find those people in your life.

In this terrific audiobook the Author, Kate Williams, takes on the the idea of hustle culture and reminds you that it's ok to take a step back or slow down. Our culture expects a "full speed ahead" lifestyle at all times and this book helps to break down these expectations with wit and humor.

What a fun book! The story of Vanessa, a shy PR guru as she tries to make over the image of Pyro a Villian who wants to become good. This book is sometimes over the top and emotional in all the best ways.

I love all of Charlotte Stein's work, and this book is no exception. It focused on Nancy, who struggles to find love and Jack who is clueless about dating, mostly because is the son of satan, and has to learn lots about being a human as he goes along.

This book tells the true story of the murder of 25 year old Michael Stewart at the hands of a group of New York Transit Police and the fight for justice for this crime. Michael was a young black man who was beaten after being arrested for tagging a subway station. The crime was witnessed by numerous college students watching from their dorm yet somehow justice was never served.

This was just a wonderful and compelling second chance romance from a debut author! June, a struggling actor, and Adam, her former best friend and talented chef, used to live together at 74 Perry street. They are both shocked to find out that their former landlord has died and left the brownstone to them as joint new owners. June and Adam haven't spoken for 5 years after a friendship breakup that left them both hurting and angry.

Murder in the Dollhouse is the tragic story of Jennifer Dulos' disappearance. Jennifer was a beautiful woman who came from a wealthy and insulated background. Until her marriage, she was a woman searching for herself. She was an accomplished playwright in her younger years and from all accounts a kind and generous woman who ended up married to the wrong man. This marriage ultimately killed her.

This was a complicated book to read, both fascinating and ultimately heartbreaking. This story was Gypsy-Rose's opportunity to share her version of events. It was difficult to read of the complicated relationship she had with her mom. It provides a raw version of the life she led with her mother, and while I have extreme sympathy for her, I find it hard to decide where the truth actually lies.

This was a fun second chance/amnesia story. Dolly, the former assistant and fake wife of billionaire Ares, gets a phone call from Ares after an accident that has given him amnesia. He doesn't remember their last fight, or the fact they were in a fake marriage to protect his money.

This book was just a total hit for me. Lauren was so relatable as a mom of a teenager. The constant struggles of what to say and how to say it, how to reach out across the divide that happens at that age. Compound this with the grief they were dealing with and it makes for a lot of room for growth. I loved Lauren‘s growth and her reawakening of the stronger version of herself.

This book can be a really great resource and overview about Autism in women. It was informative and provided some great insight into how women were overlooked during research for so long, and the different ways that Autism presents in women. It would be a great resource for someone starting their journey into learning more about this topic.

This is a tragic true crime story about Nathan Carman. It opens with him being found floating in the middle of the North Atlantic on a raft, but instead of this rescue becoming the end of his story, instead it is only the beginning. This book covers the suspicious death of Nathan's mom on that same boat, and the shooting death of grandfather.

This is such a sweet story about two lost souls finding love. Tamzir is an alien stranded on earth and Jennette is a human who has always felt a little out of place in her life, and also happens to be obsessed with aliens. Jennette makes friends with a group of people online and becomes close with Tamzir's alter ego.

A great fantasy novel. I loved Silla and her growth through the course of the story. The world building is great!

A raw and powerful book about love and loss. Michelle details the complicated relationship she had with her mom and the devastation her mom‘s cancer diagnosis and death wrought in her life. As a half-Korean American, the loss of her mom unmoored her from a part of her life and heritage she was desperate to keep. Her growth and confidence that came over time was compelling to read.

A sweet and surprisingly heartfelt regency romance.

A group of retired spies must band together when one of their own is threatened. Maggie Bird is a chicken farmer who is visited by a mysterious woman asking about her past. When that same woman is found murdered in her driveway the next day, she and her spy friends must team up together to find the killer and protect their small town.

This nook really takes the average digital footprint and deconstructs how our online use is making us less happy. It reminded me to be more aware of my online usage and I‘ll take parts of this book to use in my own life.

A great second book in the series.

This is a fantastic discussion about the intersection between being Jewish and being Black and the way the cultural landmarks of traditional food help define both. I‘m a huge fan of this author‘s work.

A great reminder about why romance books are so awesome! The book and cultural references are a little dated and white author centered but the underlying theme is still important!

So my goal this year was to read 80 books (kindle, audio & physical) from my TBR. My one rule is it had to be purchased 2023 or earlier. This was such a fun book! The leftover heroes from a massive and tragic battle must reunite for a wedding. They are all 10 years older but not all of them have grown wiser. I loved the very real way it takes on loss and trauma and the growth and struggles of the main characters while also providing a top notch story and fantasy world. Beatrice, Elowen & Clare are compelling and you root for them!

A fun and satisfying conclusion to this series! K.M. Shea really hits the spot sort of a half-cozy romance fantasy. (Not the tagged book)
