Listened to in my quest to read all things TJR. An amazing writer, but I‘m not sure this was necessary to publish. Too short and the letters make you too removed from the story.

Today I read a short story by TJR, and liked it. So my next book is going to be another by this author.
Read a little in the park, eating a cold pasta salad with some Kimchi. Found this for the first time in a shop here in Ecuador yesterday and have been putting it on almost everything since then.
I don't remember where I heard about this book, but it is by Taylor Jenkins Reid & I'll read anything she writes. This short story is an audible exclusive. Told through letters between 4 people... 2 couples, 2 affairs, and 2 interesting twists. Wait for it... I highly recommend this short story.!
I listened to this short story while cooking chicken divan tonight and I had a great time 👀
Didn‘t mind this quick read, different style being written in letters, which I actually didn‘t mind as a short story.
Free on Prime reading-thank God. I wanted to see what all the fuss is with this author. Her books are everywhere, along with similar looking, pastel coloured covers with Benguiat Caslon font, by other authors (It‘s even set in the Daisy Jones ”universe”).The story unfolds via letters found by an adulterous couples‘ spouses. It‘s set in the 70s because I guess a book of text messages (❤️U babes. Look 4ward to seeing U 🍆)would be a more interesting
This short, epistolary novel packs a punch! Snuck this in just under the wire for #authoramonth #BookspinBingo and #20in4 #Readathon. Now just trying to finish out a #chunkstwr in the last 2 days of February! @Soubhiville @TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65
Free from audible and Amazon kindle prime reading. A story written in the epistolary style. A woman finds letters written to her husband from his lover. She then reaches out to the lover‘s husband. An excellent read. It felt fully fleshed out and complete despite it‘s very short length. The ending was surprising and satisfying. My 2nd success this year with short stories. I see more in my future!

I didn‘t realise this is a short story when I started. I liked the letters format, written between two strangers whose spouses are having an affair with each other. Very engaging, and the ending…I was surprised by it.

I had planned to listen to Daisy Jones for this month, but I put it on hold too late and it‘ll be a while before I can get to it. So, I went ahead and downloaded this through Prime reading. It‘s not at all the kind of story I would pick up on my own, but I did think it used the epistolary format very well and I listened straight through.

Thank you to all who posted that this was available in Prime reading!
This is a short story (novella? 88 pages) written in epistolary format and set in the 70s. Carrie writes to the husband of the woman she has discovered is having an affair with her doctor husband. We read their letters back and forth, but we also get to see the letters between the two having an affair. #aam #authoramonth
I know Taylor Jenkins Reid is popular, but her books just haven‘t been for me. I decided to try again with this short story, but there‘s just something about her characters that rubs me the wrong way. #AuthorAMonth

A novella that I wish was a longer story. I‘d love to know where the main characters are now. Another #AuthorAMonth read finished and another pick for Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Thanks to @KarenUK for putting this on my #readersradar last night. (And for the #pop23 prompt! 😁) Set in the 1970s, a doctor‘s wife discovers her husband‘s affair and starts writing to the other woman‘s husband, and we also see letters between the doctor and his paramour.
It‘s only a short story / novella but still packs a punch and there‘s room for a bit of a twist too.

An epistolary novella, set in the seventies….. A wife of a doctor discovers the evidence of the title. As she connects with the wronged husband on the other end of the affair, a friendship forms. Told through letters between both couples, it‘s a fairly straightforward story, but the ending has a satisfying conclusion.

Well…dam$. She did that 😭. Bravo, Taylor.
A (very brief) short story from TJR, and it packs a pretty solid punch for so few pages. Nothing earth shattering, but an interesting take on two people who begin corresponding about the affair happening between their respective spouses, and the unexpected bond that forms between them. I'd put this more at a "slight pick" personally, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of epistolary formats. 3.5⭐️

So much drama … two couples with dysfunctional relationships in the 1970s. No texting or sexting, just letters. Even phone calls are out of bounds due to landlines with short cords. Quick, enjoyable listen but not much more than that.
Mostly picked for a color in the #pantone2022 challenge … LOL
I love TJR! This has been on my list for a while, but I read it at the perfect time. I love when things work out that way! #BBRCAdultInTheNameOfLove @LibrarianRyan
Great short listen from TJR told through a series of letters between the spouses of two people having an affair. Free with Audible membership and worth the 80 minutes!
Holy cow! How did I get that emotional during 88 pages? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What makes people in a relationship infidel?
Being someone married for over a year now, I have often wondered this. There are days when I can't stand my partner, and then there are days I swoon with bouts of happy feelings. I wonder what it means to be in love.
(Continued in the comments)......
Wow 🤩 packs a punch for a short novella please please please Ms Reid follow this up with a full blown novel about what Carrie , david , Janet and Ken did next . Loved it
Listened to this audiobook and finished it in one listen! Each chapter/letter is like slowly unwrapping a surprise gift.
An epistolary short story by the flawless writer of some of my recent favorites. Two married people discover their spouses are having an affair. They become close as they write letters to deal with their heart ache. It reminded me a bit of the movie Same Time, Next Year.
“It seems as if you see me exactly as I wish to be seen. There is no greater gift than that.”
The audiobook version (only from audible) is excellent and a quick listen - a little over a hour, I believe. I love books written in an epistolary format. This is the story of letters exchanged between two people whose spouses are having an affair.
This is a super fast read...novella in length and the story is told through letters. And I love this way of storytelling. It‘s easy and quick to read.
I am such a sucker for stories told through letters/correspondence. An outstanding short story! So much feeling packed into this little story!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
The only thing I didn't like about this is that it was a short story! 😭
After starting it and finishing it in one sitting, I wanted more!!! #shortstory #amazonoriginalstories #taylorjenkinsreid
Somewhat predictable but a great quick listen...just what I was looking for😁Thanks @Megabooks
Next Up! At under 2 hours it‘s a perfect quick listen and it‘s a multi cast narration with Julia Whelan 🙌🏻Thanks for the rec my #AudioGuru @Megabooks 😘😘
Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my favourite authors so I finally decided to read her short story. I loved how this book was written and how you see the relationships in this book develop. Definitely a great read if you need a quick read.
A short read, probably novelette length. It's told in epistolary form and starts off with a woman who finds a set of letters to her husband from his mistress. She starts a correspondence with the mistress's husband. I really enjoyed this one! It's a really smart title too given the ending. 4⭐
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I love Taylor Jenkins Reid, but this one just bummed me out. I understood it... I just didn‘t really get it. I spent the whole time feeling bad for everyone. 🤷♀️
I thought I saw where this story* was going but the twist caught me by surprise! This was my first TJR and I'm looking forward to reading her novels on my TBR.

Today, I‘m sharing my review for another book I finished for #bookoplathon. This completes the prompt Small Book. This book only took 1 hour for me to listen to. I only have 1 book left to read for #bookoplathon now. If I have time, I might roll again because I‘m having so much fun playing #bookopoly but I don‘t know yet.
A short and sweet epistolary novella about a woman and a man exchanging letters when they find out their respective spouses are cheating on them together. Loved the ending. (And there's a quick Easter Egg mentioning Daisy Jones as a favorite artist!)
Oh this is clever. It‘s short but it does a lot. I thought I knew where it was going, and yet. V good.
A worthwhile super-quick listen that I got for free through Amazon Prime...did anyone else catch the Daisy Jones reference in here?
Oh dear just not for me. It seems unfair to pan as it isn't the type of thing I'd normally pick up but I just found it incredibly beige and uninteresting.
A free short story on kindle at the moment. Something nice, easy and quick to read as I'm too much of a coward to read "Pine" at night and I gave up on my #bookspin book. Not my normal fayre but sure let's give it a go.

I love an epistolary novel and this one was well done. I often feel that short stories fall short but this one told a complete, and interesting, story. 👍👍
