I only managed to finish 2 books in the month of January, but I enjoyed both of them. These are both the most recent installments in series, so it was kind of bittersweet not to be able to pick up the next one.

1. The 90s for nostalgia reasons.
2. Depends on the situation and the title. Some titles are very good in audio. I read most frequently in ebook though.
3. Younger, 28.
4. Barely. Currently reside 118 miles from the hospital I was born in.
5. Not sure what I‘m supposed to do here. I‘m out of practice on Litsy.

This is an interesting little paragraph concerning the origins of The Pledge of Allegiance. I had no idea that it was a result of the World‘s Columbian Exposition. This book is thorough but not boring. It has been a pleasure to read so far. Just hope I can speed through the second half before tomorrow‘s book club meeting!

This is a re-read for me, but my book club picked it for our next meeting. It‘s been a while though, and I was a teenager when I read it. I‘m curious to see how I feel about it as an adult.

Pickpick

Just finished this three hours ahead of my book club meeting. The book surprised me from the start. It was not the story I was expecting when I picked it up. And what an ending, finding out Aunt Flo killed him. I have met Joshilyn before at a conference and have been meaning to pick up something by her for ages. I will definitely read anything else by her, because this was a great read.

LiteraryinPA My favorite by her is The Almost Sisters! 7y

The house was an altar with ten thousand attendants, big, small, servicing, attending, in choirs. But the gods had gone away, and the ritual of the religion continued senselessly, uselessly.

I really liked this little picture book. I was very afraid of the dark as a child, so I identified. Also, love Klassen as an illustrator.

MatchlessMarie I think Snicket‘s picture books are sorely underrated. The Composer is Dead is brilliant as well. 7y

I decided to show my face at the library again after I returned a copy of Lumberjanes that was two months overdue. #librarybookhaul

Chelleo I returned a book nearly 20 years late. It was so old that there wasn't an electronic record of it. The library staff literally laughed out loud. I was a newly minted librarian who just moved back home when I found the book. I felt so guilty but they were all good sports about it. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤣😂🤣 (edited) 7y
