"The dead queens started this fight. But it is the living ones who will finish it"
Ok, I am super late and had this on my tbr shelf for over a year...but I didn't want it to end. What a perfect ending to an amazing series, not what I expected at all.
"I was born knowing how to do 3 things- how to breathe, how to dream, and how to love you." - Lore by Alexandra Bracken
So I am not sure what to think of this book. I liked it...until the end. I feel like not a single question I had was answered and I am just left extremely confused. Idk if its because I haven't been able to sit down and read for awhile...or if it was just a confusing story. Can anyone explain the ending to me?
I fell in love with the way Penny and Sam noticed the little things about each other, stuff people wouldn't normally notice or like about themselves. I also like that she pointed out the "flaws", like Sam being too skinny and Penny having thick thighs. It made them more realistic. My new art print finally came in the mail! I forgot I even ordered it. Art by Melanie Bourgeois aka meliescribbles.
There were some good aspects but in the end it was hard to force myself to finish this. It became a chore and I ended up scanning more than reading the last few chapters. It might have been the wrong genre for me.. too deep in the fantasy aspect? If that sort of thing is your bag though (10 points if you thought of Austin Powers) then you might like it. Been pretty busy this week, so I am only about halfway through. But pretty much this entire story all I can think is "Oh no, Tom Tom, baby what is you doing!"
Way too excited!! Found this little baby on owl crate, It has spots to track your monthly reading schedule, new release lists and pages to keep track of book reviews. Speaking of owl crate, if anyone has tried it, please let me know your opinion. I want to try it but it seems pricey.
I really loved that she added disabilities and highlighted on things like it is okay to be gay, and that women are just as strong as men. Her take on the beast was unique and this made me want to stock up on more princess spin-offs. I found myself staying up later than I should, telling myself "just one more chapter." I am going to be on the look-out for more from this author. For a full review, check out my blog at papertimemachines.blogspot.com
This author had a great way of describing emotions. I felt anger, love and betrayal with Lazlo. She described hate so well, the way you can hear it in a voice, and how anger is a closed fist and gritted teeth. Art is by taratjah on Instagram. Great light read! You got to go on 2 adventures, her love life and her mother's. It felt like you got to explore beautiful Italy right along with her. It made me not only want to look up these places but the people too, they seemed too real!
I liked it but I wish there would have been more actual time travelling. For the most part, the entire book took place in one location. Still going to go for book 2 to find out what's really up on that love triangle though. For a full review, check out my blog papertimemachines.blogspot.com
"On the second Sabbat of Twelfthmoon, in the city of Weep, a girl fell from the sky. Her skin was blue, her blood was red." What a way to start a book!! Art is by Melanie Bourgeois or meliescribbles on most platforms.
From the very beginning this book draws you in, absorbs you completely, until you too feel like you are part of this world. It felt magical, and it was. In the story there are 4 London's, each different than the other. You could practically feel the grit in Grey London, and smell the beautiful flowers in Red London. It was over too soon. Not till I've seen everything! ❤❤❤
I didn't love it as a whole and I put it down for more interesting reads at least twice. But if this author ever wrote a book on just fairy tales I would be all over it. They reminded me of Grimms with their sinister quality and I wish there would have been more.

I love that all the characters had back stories. And quirks. Everyone seemed realistic, even with unrealistic abilities. The only thing I didn't like is that the romance between Kaz and Inej was slow burning. I wanted her to be the one person he could touch and not mind. But in reality, it wasn't like that. At least she was the one person he wanted to try for.
Preach! This went straight to the feels. "Many boys will bring you flowers. But someday you'll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower, your favorite song, your favorite sweet. And even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it won't matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no else does"
These have to be some of the best battle scenes I have ever read. They are getting my heart thumping like I am actually there. 10/10. Good lawd.
This might just be my favorite retelling of The Little Mermaid. The dialogue was amazing and the book kept me hooked from the very first sentence.
"Behind the blue lurked...nothing. Only an abysmal emptyness, as if the goddess had created a child and forgot to bequeath it a soul"
"When a man tells you he's going to hurt you, believe it. They always warn you and they're always right"
You know you found a series worth reading when it puts you through a roller coaster of emotions. You are mad, happy and sad right along with the characters. I am having trouble wanting any of the queens to die. Granted Katherine was a royal b**ch (heheh royal) I feel like she is a victim of environment. At least she could have a little redemption moment before she dies. But Joseph..ugh whyyyy. I think Jules will just end up ruling everything BOOM.
Ok had to give up on the other one and start ONE DARK THRONE. I almost forgot how much I loved the first one. And of course...gotta protect that case.
So nervous to start this...the reviews don't look good. But I guess we will see.
