I‘ve started to dabble with flatlaying books and I decided to start a “bookstagram” because for as much as I consider myself a reader, I also like to think I‘m a collector; I have so many beautiful books that I‘d like to show to others who would also appreciate them 💕 Feel free to add me, @ rosedustedpages on IG / I cant promise I‘m any good at all, but I‘ll certainly have fun trying 🥰

Aims42 I just followed you 👋🏼 I love seeing what people are reading. I‘m @ AmyHoidasAsOf9515 5y

“But I didn‘t much like people‘s sympathy, especially coming as this did from a stranger: it made me feel pitied. And pity scared me, for it forced me to think of all I‘d lost. Grief already gnawed at my edges, and if I let it, it would swallow me whole.”

How is this a MIDDLE GRADE?!? It‘s so good and so lovely, if you like gothic novels you absolutely have to check out this little book.

Goodwill haul, preparing in the event that I‘ll have to self quarantine due to the virus. At least I‘ll have a lifetimes worth of books to read. 💕

Tracyantoon Man! I really need to check out my goodwill for books! 5y
r0sepetals @Tracyantoon Yes! And the best part is that each of these books only cost me a dollar and some change! I‘m always pleasantly surprised by what I find there. :) 5y

I‘ve been inactive due to work and school, and honestly I haven‘t had time to read for the fun of it over the past couple of weeks. While I wish I‘d been made more of dent in my 2020 reading list, sometimes other things take priority. I have an evening of homework ahead of me, and I look forward to a Sunday in bed with endless cups of tea of a little Jane Austen all day tomorrow. I hope everyone has been well. 💕

Scochrane26 We have times in our lives where reading can‘t be a priority. 5y

⭐️⭐️⭐️ My first read of 2020!

This is a story about a young girl who is born on a spaceship, but both of her parents die mysteriously. She‘s all alone, hurdling towards a new planet where civilization is meant to start again. It‘s all about her journey and, without eluding to much to the plot, the peculiar circumstances that arise along the way.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some might call this true love. Others might wonder why Grace never answers the phone. Or why she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn‘t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim... Or why there are such high security metal shutters on all the downstairs windows. Some might wonder what‘s really going on once the dinner party is over, and the front door has closed.

Quick, page turning psychological thriller

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book has shaken me to my CORE. It was so bizarre, super uncomfortable to read and a total jab at the society we live in today. I flew through all 400 pages in two days and that ending... 🤬

As a CW this book spends a good deal of time talking about eating disorders/body dysmorphia and suicide. I would not recommend this book to people who are easily triggered by these topics because it is a very dark and heavy element of the book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ “An eccentric recluse. A self-absorbed newspaper magnate. A shady footman. A mansion with a secret. And one girl who has the moxie to see everything for what it is.”

Super cute book, set in the 1920‘s loosely based on a few historical events. The plot unfolds pretty quickly, but it kept me going until the end. 🙃

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Would you like to know the greatest secret of fairykind? We prefer to pretend otherwise, but truly, we have never been the immortal ones. We may live long enough to see the world change, but we‘re never the ones who changed it. When we finally reach the end, we are unloved and alone, and leave nothing behind, not even our name chiseled on a stone slab. And yet—mortals, through their works, their Craft, are remembered forever.”

⭐️⭐️ I‘m sad to report that this book fell a little short for me. The beginning started so strong, and Mandel is clearly talented; the ending just felt so rushed to me, and there were SO many questions that I just felt were left unanswered. 😓 This book is hugely popular, and generally well-received and I usually LOVE dystopian novels, but this one just didn‘t do it for me, and I really REALLY wanted to love it.

marleed Same reading experience for me. I think it may have been timing on my part and the other books awaiting me for this month. I wanted to like it more too. 5y

“A memory from early childhood, before the collapse: sitting with a friend on a lawn, a game where they closed their eyes and concentrated hard and tried to read one another‘s minds. She never entirely let go of the notion that if she reached far enough with her thoughts she might find someone waiting, that if two people were to cast their thoughts outward at the same moment they might somehow meet in the middle.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “He watches me a moment, and I wonder if he can read in my expression that I will never tell him the truth. I‘ll give him a version of events, a half-truth, but I haven‘t told anyone what happened in those smoke-filled moments in January when I stood over the Prophet‘s body and watched him breathe his last ungodly breath. And I never will.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️ A beautifully written book by a woman who treated and personally experienced an array of mental illnesses. The stories are moving and I‘d highly recommend it to people in the mental health profession and those seeking to understand mental illnesses the profound impact treatment has on both parties. It‘s relatable, sometimes humorous and always blatantly honest.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I‘m happy to say I was not disappointed by this book. #RhettAndLink did such a great job capturing aspects of their childhood and weaving it into a great work of #fiction. It‘s a perfect blend of suspense, culty weirdness and good old #mythicality. If you are a GMM fan you absolutely must read this book. This book permanently has a place on my shelf and in my heart. 🙃💕

It‘s cold and raining here in my corner of the Midwest tonight and I start a new cohort on Monday for school, so I thought this weekend would be the perfect time to stay in with two of my favorite fellas ( #RhettAndLink ) and start this book, #TheLostCausesOfBleakCreek

I received this copy of the book during their book tour last month, I can‘t believe I haven‘t started it until now!

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨Caitlin Doughty is one of my favorite YouTubers and this book is just as good as her channel. Filled with lots of tidbits about the funeral industry and a few parts actually makes you pause and confront your own mortality. Great read for those of us morbid minded folks out there!

r0sepetals @Tera66 I read this in an attempt to battle some death anxiety that I have, and I felt it to be a real eye opener to the death “process” - a lot less daunting than most of society thinks it is. I‘m glad this book helped you in your own ways. 😌 5y
