I‘m reading fanfiction in my pajamas when I hear a nightmarish sound: the emergency alarm. Pulling an oxygen mask out of the nearest wall panel, I sprint to the helm with my heart in my throat.

This was unexpected. I honestly didn't see some of the twists coming. I never got bored with the story even though there were parts when nothing was really happening. It was well done.

12/10. That‘s it. That‘s the review.
Romy‘s life has always been different. She was born on a spaceship, living entirely in space with just her parents. Until they both die, leaving Romy completely alone, hurtling away from Earth, running a spaceship. Years pass, then Romy learns NASA is sending another ship to meet with hers. Messaging the other ships captain, J, she finally feels connected to another person again. Except J might be lying to her.

I read this book in two days, I couldn't put it down. I thought it was going to be a simple space-exploration book, but, boy, was I wrong. The second half of the story hit me like a freight train. This book is definitely something. Recommend to anyone who loves space and enjoys twists 'n turns.

Book 20
Popsugar:
✅ A book set on a plane, train, or cruise ship: The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (spaceship? Hope it counts).

I was expecting much more, and unfortunately ended up disappointed. I think the problem was, I never connected with the MC. It's action packed, that kept me reading. It's well written, but I never felt her pain or struggles.

Fun YA read! Loved how it was set up in the space

I surprised myself and really enjoyed this - it‘s set up as YA space romance x paranoid thriller, but it‘s invested in helping its isolated 16 year old protagonist face past trauma and defeat anxious brainweasels. She‘s sweet, she‘s naive, and it‘s hard not to root for her. A fast, cute read.

Book 102🎧
Love, love, loved this one! Romy is such an amazing character and her personal growth through the book is badass👊🏻
I‘d love a sequel! To see what the rest of the journey, and Earth 2 is like!🌎🪐✨

Romy is the first & only person born in space! But after tragedy strikes, she‘s left all alone… until the Eternity arrives!

#littensdressedinblood #September 12 #prompt The Killing Moon 🌙 #theloneliestgirlintheuniverse #laurenjames #scifi #fateandeternallife #space #romance I researched the meaning of the song. It was a dream. Answers and questions about fate, immortality and seeking a future. So I went ahead and chose this one. I was battling between this one and Life after life. Both have so many polarizing reviews. Both are on my TBR. Any comments? Are they good?

MidnightBookGirl I have Life After Life on my TBR, but haven't read it or the tagged book... but the cover alone makes me want to! 3y

⭐⭐ When I first came across this book I had so many high hopes for what was in store for me when I would finally read it. This book was such a disappointment, I had to force myself to finish. It didn't start picking up till about page 200. It started getting pretty good for a while and then just crashed landed, I did not enjoy this book whatsoever! It really could have been so much more, it'll be going in the donate pile.

KateReadsYA P.s. it hurts me to write a negative review on any book. It's like this is the authors art, their work and for someone to just so easily put their opinion so openly on it really breaks me! 😞 most of the time I won't even post a book a book if I have to give it less than 3 stars but I want to start being more open, sadly this book doesn't seem to get less than 3 stars but it's truly how I felt. 4y

This book was good for the most part. I loved this book in the beginning I spent hours at a time reading it. When it came to the ending I was really unsatisfied. I feel that there could have been more added. Still I enjoyed this book. I give it a 7/10.

I struggled between a pick and a so-so with this one. It was a really interesting concept, but I just wanted more from the ending...that being said, I binge read it in 3 hours, so I rounded up to a pick!

*celebratory dancing* I FINALLY FINISHED A WHOLE BOOK!

I‘ve been in such a bad slump. I am so happy right now.

This one caught my eye in an ad for Book Outlet, so I reached out to Page Turners on fb for opinions; and they did not let me down.

I devoured this. Started a couple hours ago and just finished. So 👏🏻good 👏🏻 It had the perfect amount of suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat. I just wish it didn‘t end so quickly! 10/10.

Crazeedi Yay for finishing a book!! 5y

⭐️⭐️⭐️ My first read of 2020!

This is a story about a young girl who is born on a spaceship, but both of her parents die mysteriously. She‘s all alone, hurdling towards a new planet where civilization is meant to start again. It‘s all about her journey and, without eluding to much to the plot, the peculiar circumstances that arise along the way.

This was actually quite an interesting concept and plot but despite it being barely 300 pages, I feel like it could've been cut down to a novella and that would've built the suspense. I also did find the ending to be somewhat anti-climactic. The conflict of being cut off from the literal EARTH thinking World War III has erupted is absolutely terrifying but then the ending took a pretty traditional trope twist and I just went “...oh...that's it?“

I really enjoyed the audiobook of The Loneliest Girl in the Universe! For sure one of my top reads this year so far. The way the book is worked well in that format I think. The story had me sucked in from the beginning. I had to know what was going to happen next! The author does a great job of making you feel the way Romy does in the book. Also I liked that the author portrays the teen very realistically.

Just started The Loneliest Girl in the Universe after it has been sitting on my shelf for a while. I‘ve heard mixed reviews and finally decided to take a go at reading it. So far it‘s a little slow, although the concept is interesting. We‘ll see how it goes....🔭🌙🚀

Strange book. Reminds me too much of Illuminae, but it seems to be trying too much. Okay, I'm only 10% in. I'm giving it 30%.

Sitting on the balcony in my hoodie. This time last week, I could not sit out here because it was too hot.

Now that I have a curtain rod and my "curtains" can be easily adjusted the sun is hiding behind thick clouds. Sweet irony. ?

I was a girl who‘s read two books in her whole lifetime until I saw this cover.

The protagonist is relatable and makes this whole journey all the more intense. The things she faces, the twists hurling her way. I couldn‘t put the book down. It was an easy dramatic funny read, it‘s a ride I definitely push others to get on! Don‘t be turned away by the cheesy love story summary. Be enchanted by the concept, and I promise it‘ll be so so worth it.

Romy, is a teenager stuck alone on a generational space ship after her family dies, with only a voice from NASA to help her out. NASA is so incompetent in this story I was convinced that NASA was gaslighting Romy. But NASA isn‘t corrupt, just bad at its job. For most of the story it doesn‘t matter that NASA is bad at its job, because (unlike in The Martian) space is incidental. Romy could be a shut it on Earth, stuck in her apartment.

when I finished this book and I just had to hug it and scream. From start to finish I was 100% invested in the past, present, and future of Romy Silvers...the 16 year old who is also the only surviving crew-member of a spaceship traveling to a new planet that is supposed to sustain a prosperous future for humanity. Surprisingly deep, super fast paced, action packed, kinda spooky, seriously suspenseful, and genuine..✨
