Doctor Who: Forever Autumn
Doctor Who: Forever Autumn | Mark Morris
10 posts | 11 read | 5 to read
It is almost Halloween in the sleepy New England town of Blackwood Falls. Autumn leaves litter lawns and sidewalks, paper skeletons hang in windows, and carved pumpkins leer from stoops and front porches. The Doctor and Martha soon discover that something long-dormant has awoken in the town, and this will be no ordinary Halloween. What is the secret of the ancient chestnut tree and the mysterious book discovered tangled in its roots? What rises from the local churchyard in the dead of night, sealing up the lips of the only witness? And why are the harmless trappings of Halloween suddenly taking on a creepy new life of their own? As nightmarish creatures prowl the streets, the Doctor and Martha must battle to prevent both the townspeople and themselves from suffering a grisly fate... Featuring the Tenth Doctor and Martha as played by David Tennant and Freema Agyeman in the hit sci-fi series from BBC Television.

Day 25 #Scarathlon Photo Challenge - Fall/Autumn. I have this on my Kindle, and the problem with ebooks is that they're easy to forget I have them. I already started another book after finishing The Mist, otherwise, I would start this one. #TeamWhoYaGonnaCall

It was definitely a Doctor Who story, but I thinkbit was missing something to really make it stand out to me. It's kind of forgettable, maybe because I never cared for Martha as a companion. But the narrator, loved him. He really brought the book to life.

RamsFan1963 I liked Martha, but compared to Rose and Donna, she's the lesser companion. 1y
AshRaye @RamsFan1963 I loved Rose so much, I truly think she was the best. However, Donna came in there and was hilarious. She changed the whole tone of the show. She's a close second to Rose in my eyes. But Martha, I just never liked her. Usually, the companion would grow on me after a time, but she never did. 1y
RamsFan1963 @AshRaye Clara is the companion I never warmed up to, with either the 11th or 12th Doctor. 1y
AshRaye @RamsFan1963 I couldn't stand her for the longest time, but once she was gone, I realized I had actually started to like her. I still don't have any strong feelings about her, though. 1y

33/150 A fun, Halloween themed Doctor Who adventure. It wasn't scary, DW stories rarely are, but there were plenty of creepy moment, I don't like clowns, to give me some goose bumps. The 10th Doctor is always my favorite. 3 ⭐⭐⭐💫

Off work today so I plan to get some major reading done on such a gorgeous day. Currently reading:
Doctor Who: Forever Autumn (print)
All About Me (audiobook)
Gastro Obscura (ebook)
If things go as planned, and we know how plans are, I should finish two of these today and start on Eating to Extinction (audiobook) and Redwall (print)

I‘m a pretty big whovian, and I really enjoyed this. It‘s nice and short, and I thought the voices were pretty good. (Maybe if I pretend it‘s autumn, all the snow‘ll go away?)

5/5 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
This story was brilliant. I could see every action The Doctor and Martha made, they were written perfectly! It was a nice short to listen to and kept my little Whovian hearts happy!!

It's the last Dr Whosday before Hallowe'en, so let's talk about monsters. Not Daleks and Cybermen, traditional horror monsters like vampires and werewolves and mummies. I'm going to spilt these up into a few posts, tagging then with the best book available for that creature. 🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻😈😈😈
