Funny coincidence, both kids are currently reading James Patterson. 😄
The only reason my son agreed to the pic is because I said Littens would appreciate the humor. (You know 13........)

A small, blue escaped lab mouse and his escapades learning to be brave and to embrace difference, this middle grade story was cute. Full review: http://booknaround.blogspot.com/2018/01/review-word-of-mouse-by-James-patterson....
Recovering heads need easy to read books and this was just lying around. No idea where I got it or why since I don‘t generally review middle grade (plus it‘s been out for over a year). I‘m guessing one of my friends gave it to me for my nephew since even my kids are well beyond middle grade years. The reluctant book model is Miss Gatsby. #schnauzersoflitsy
My favorite quote from James Patterson's Word of Mouse. Full review here... https://linktr.ee/goodreadsandme
"Words have no muscles but they are strong enough to break a heart." - Isaiah.
This ingenious story tackles themes such as daring to be different, being brave, bullying, use of animals in a laboratory, personal sacrifice, and the importance of friends and family. It is a perfect read for 8-12 years old that are ready to move up to chapter books.
"All of us are given gifts. How we use them is up to us." -Isaiah the Mouse ? Read how Isaiah manages to escape a lab, avoid death by hairless cat, rats, hawk, and mousetrap while forming new relationships. All the while, Isaiah discovers his own strengths, talents, and bravery. Overall, a quick, cute read meant to leave any reader wanting more. I felt it fell a little flat with depth... esp compared to other Patterson novels.
Each chapter starts with a fun quote like this one. ?
And here's another from chapter 7:
"I decide enough is enough. I have reached my limit, ladies and gentlemen. I am tired of being attacked for who I am. I will not become this cat's furry toy."
-- Isaiah pg. 31
So glad I resisted this title on my second trip to look at it! My daughter just got it as an early birthday present from my dad! She's letting me read it to her at bedtime and let me just say I am having a hard time not reading ahead!
Despite @MrBook 's #tbrtemptation post on this title I DID leave it on the book store shelf! (Well, for now 😉)
#TBRtemptation post! The library recently obtained a bunch of copies of this book. Never heard of it, but then again, JP produces so many books nowadays, it seems impossible to stay in top of his output 😜. It's a fairly thick Middle-Grade read following the adventures of Isaiah the mouse, a very unique mouse. I may have to check this one out and see what all the fuss is about 😊👍🏻. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
