It‘s surreal. As a war is being waged just 30 miles south of here, my Amazon order was just delivered. Yes, it was placed last Monday but still…life goes on here despite the abject horror that just occurred 48 hours ago. It already feels like a lifetime. I know the coming days are going to be brutal. Israel is a tiny tiny country and EVERYONE knows someone that has been directly affected by Saturdays slaughter. Today is our friend‘s son funeral.

Cinfhen I haven‘t picked up a book or put on an audio since news first started trickling in on Saturday. I‘m not sure when I‘ll be able to again. 6mo

CoffeeAndABook That‘s entire unimaginable for me. My gut is twisting thinking about the horrendous suffering. The unspeakably brutal acts. And going to a young man‘s funeral, that‘s sad and maddening beyond words. I‘m sure an Amazon delivery seems like an alien concept devoid of meaning at this point. Cinfhen Thank you SO MUCH, Chrissy! The reason I keep posting is because the world needs to understand what HAMAS is. They are not about resistance. They are about death, destruction, rape, murder and abduction. They aren‘t trying to achieve anything other than killing innocent civilians in the name of Allah. People like you are heroic to speak up @CoffeeAndABook you don‘t need to take a “side” to be able to understand EVIL and condemn it. 😘😘 6mo

TheEllieMo I don‘t know enough about the long-term ongoing situation in the area to feel able to comment in general, but I do know that what Hamas have been doing in the last couple of days is atrocious. These are war crimes, and it is angering me to see some people say that Israel needs to “de-escalate” in this current situation. Offering “thoughts and prayers” feels empty, but I hope you stay safe, and offer my condolences for the loss of your friend‘s son 6mo

Cinfhen I SO appreciate your honest and thoughtful comment @TheEllieMo Right now it‘s only about recognizing and acknowledging that an unspeakable human rights violation has occurred and Israel has the support of the world to take action and “rescue” the innocent civilians who have been abducted. 6mo

Its an effed up situation. You can only imagine with 800 casualties it‘s taking time to process 💔 6mo
