I just love Kate Beaton so much! Another library book I do not want to part with! On to the wishlist it goes!
I forgot how much I loved Kate Beaton‘s comics! This was an absolutely delightful collection that made me giggle and also immediately google a few of the historical figures I didn‘t recognize. If you like history, literature, and pop culture jokes you have to check these comics out! Pictured above are two of my fave strips from her “Femme Fatale” section.
Rereading some Kate Beaton this morning. I don‘t always get it, but I have a hunch that if you read through her stuff and looked up the references you didn‘t understand, you‘d end up will a decent education in the humanities by the end.
I love when Beaton pokes fun at literature, even when I've never read it. This jab at Wuthering Heights floored me! #graphicnovels #comics
Another fun literary and historical collection of comics. #letsgethraphicweeklongmarathon
I wanted more Harry Potter comics though!! Tiny Hermione needs more adventures. 🧙♂️
This one was particularly fun since I just finished The Song of Achilles yesterday. Death 💀 stare

It made me laugh.....and chuckle.....and snort. I've spent most of the day traveling and this turned out to be the perfect road trip book.

Often on Saturdays my husband does math tutoring in a library across town from the one I frequent. Unexpectedly got off of work and decided to join him and check out the graphic novel section. Hopefully I can get through one or two of these before we leave, but now I'm fully stocked for our rainy weekend! #bookhaul
Fun book especially the HP, Austen and Bronte parts.
😂😂 so many laugh out loud moments in this book!
This is such a fun collection! If you're a fan of short comic panels, I highly recommend this!

These were the only physical books by #canadianauthors I could find on my shelves... I have more represented on my kindle. 😁 #marchintoreading
I think the ones about Ida B. Wells may be my favorite in this book. And this is the last one for tonight, I promise. :)
Wonder Woman is the best. Kate Beaton makes her better.
Finally finished this Kate Beaton. Her books would be good study guides for potential Jeopardy contestants.
Library haul! Was able to somewhat control myself. Excited for these choices!!!
I read this book until the end, but honestly it was hard for me to go on... Only one of the cartoons made me smile, Unfortunately, the writer and I are not on the same page.
I liked this a lot. Beaton is hilarious in her comics about literature, history, and culture. I would certainly recommend it!
One of my favorites is the above where Cinderella and Charming fall in love over working out. It's a great example of the crazily-awesome stuff that happens in this book.
More gems from my inspiration wall: this sassy velocipedienne from Kate Beaton...
Comic strips and cartoons are my usual go-tos when my brain is temporarily fried. Just flipped through Step Aside, Pops yesterday! I love Kate Beaton and quote her regularly.

Kate Beaton never ceases to delight. I loved this collection of comics covering history, literature, and pop culture. #24in48
This lady is pretty funny! History, silly jokes, and cartooning combined!
This book and Kate Beaton's first collection really exposed the gaps in my knowledge of history and literature but I still found them quite funny.
If you love books, historical jokes, sassy and hilarious comics, then you were born to love Kate Beaton, a truly fantastic comic artist! By turns insightful, silly, political and always witty, her comics never fail to bring a smile to my face. I guarantee you will enjoy her! — Jax
Kate Beaton is one of my favorite artists and writers. She bases many of her comics in history, and adds a hilarious twist to even the most mundane events. Hot dogs, Calpurnia
"Oh, no! Feminists in the underwear section!"
I just love Kate Beaton's understated humor.
Kate Beaton's strips poke fun at nearly every historical figure and phenomenon. I especially love the medieval strips here... and the poor Lady of Shalott! 😂
Do you every save a book and sort of forget about it? I think I've done this with Step Aside, Pops. Maybe I can just wait for the Fox network show, When Brontes Attack?
The "House Full of Mulders" and Founding Fathers at an amusement park were my favorites. That rascally Ben Franklin!
