pick🏠 I love how Mary Alice Monroe weaves a friendly let‘s-take-care-of-our-environment message into her stories. This one has a great parallel between loggerhead sea turtles and mother/daughter relationships. And there‘s a beach house! With a dose of girl power and a pinch of romance the story felt well-rounded. I think I‘ll be continuing the series!

pickI read the fourth book in the Beach House series, Beach House for Rent several years ago, and have finally made my way back to this series. I decided to read the first book, The Beach House, to see how things started. Reading a beach-themed book in July seemed like the best idea. It worked out perfectly, as The Beach House takes place over the course of one summer in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. 🏖️

bailedSadly, I couldn't get into it. I contemplated continuing and pushing through it because it seems to be well liked, but ultimately, it just wasn't for me.
1. Tagged book!! I'm kind of bored and hoping it gets better. I'm still within the first 100 pages.
2. The Unhoneymooners, definitely so funny!! I want to read more by them!
3. I'm not much of a re-reader, but I'm definitely a re-watcher! New Girl, Scrubs, The Good Place, and really anything that makes me laugh ❤

This is our beach house which is on Ocean City Yacht and Golf Course. We were there last week and we are looking forward to going back soon. It is a zen place and very restful there. Great place to read. You can walk on the golf course after 6pm when the golfing is done. This is the view from my back yard. Assateague Island is 2 miles away.

Here‘s some pictures of my beach house. It is not exactly on the beach but a couple of miles inland. It is, however, on a golf course as you can see by the last picture. It is a magical place that we love to escape too. I love reading there and there are a lot of wonderful seafood restaurants in the area which we also love.

My whole immediate family (minus SIL because she had go be an awesome teacher and win an awesome award) are going on vacation together in 2 weeks. The only things I‘ve thought about for packing are coffee and making sure I have either enough cold brew or make sure I bring my pot, snacks, and what books to bring and how many. I‘m most stressed about the books and I have almost 2 full weeks before we leave. #bookproblems

Has anyone seen the movie on Hallmark? I finally watched it. I am in the middle of Beach House Reunion and thought what a great time to see the movie. WRONG!!! I have disappointed. I feel they left out some of the major and necessary parts that would have endured the movie it my heart like the book is.
pickI use to be a voracious reader, but not so much now. This book is being made into a movie...Hallmark, I think. I saw the commercial and liked it so decided to get the book. Started reading it this morning and just finished it...nine hours later. If you like emotional, family, coming home books; you should read The Beach House. I‘m heading back to the library for more Mary Alice Monroe books.
