I didn't know this book was a memoir when I started it. I'm really enjoying the author's account of returning to India.
This delightful memoir is about an unlikely friendship between a journalist recently returned to her homeland of India and the woman from whom she buys milk. It's charming and surprisingly informative about the role of milk in Indian culture.

Saw @Sace and @RamsFan1963 doing this, and thought it might help me slow down my accumulation of new books.
I‘m posting one book per day from my ever-increasing TBR. No description. No explanation. Just books to read. Join the fun if you want.
Day 1.

In this memoir, I enjoyed all of the interesting stuff about cows in India—including milk sales, cow urine uses, purification rituals involving cows walking through apartments or using diluted manure, and what happens to bull calves. The best part, however, is the cross-societal friendship between the author and the milk lady. #Audiobook narrated by Soneela Nankani.
I‘ve returned home from my road trip with my sister. Here‘s an example of the majestic scenery we saw while listening to the tagged memoir. #audiobooks
Who knew there were so many uses for cow urine and poo?!
After living in the US for 20 years, Shoba and her family return to India to reconnect with their roots. Shortly after moving in to their new apartment she becomes somewhat obsessed with the lady selling milk in the street - and her cows. A friendship with benefits is tentatively formed, and we begin to learn everything we could ever hope to about Cows and their “products”.
Picking the next book to read. Maybe this one?
Part 2: you ask the elderly kitty to pose with the cat book, and he at least looks at you but calls you dumb. 😹 #catsoflitsy #bookhaul
This is the most #colorful book on my current TBR! #readingresolutions @Jess7
A #bookstack of recent purchases that I still haven‘t finished. I‘m going to the bookstore soon to buy birthday gifts and I‘m sure this stack will get a little taller! #readingresolutions @Jess7
