#screamsbymail and #LMPBC books on the move

I think that the writing in here was lovely. The Hag is a misunderstood woman named Cailleach who is centuries old slumbering as her lineage lives on, waking only when they need help, waiting for the day when the circle will close. We read about her present day many greats granddaughter Alice and read about other generations weaved in throughout the story forgetting and finding their power. Is it perfect? No, but I enjoyed it. A feminist Pick!

I love this book so far. I love paragraphs like these. This book feels very Circe adjacent. Like they live in the same city but different neighborhoods.

Unlike any title I have read, and for that I am thankful to indie publishers. Not so much horror as much as creepy and atmospheric. I love the female-centric aspect of it and the idea of time as non-linear. Having just arrived from KL two days ago, we are traveling yet again - this time to Manila to spend time with husband‘s family who are visiting from California. They will head back home to Singapore with us right after Christmas before they return to the US. Hoping to catch up with a full day of rejuvenating spa, facial, wax, massage the whole day tomorrow. Loving the view from our AirBnB home in KL (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) for the loooong weekend book hunting at The Mines: #BigBadWolf book sale. Now starting my choice for Round 2 of #ScreamsByMail book club. May take me until end of the month or early next to finish this and write my notes. 😭😂🤣🧚🏼‍♀️😭 Reading a book from the rocky Scottish cliffs while in Malaysia to buy more books to bring back home to Singapore.

A sweeping telling of many gifted birthrights, repeated in varied, yet precut, scenarios that culminate before an inevitable onset of more. Cailleachs through the ages hand down wisdom that comes forth when most needed. A delightful and evoking read of feminist power and perseverance.

A wonderful novel of heritage & myth.
