This is a very upsetting, and important book. I‘m not a vegetarian , but I do buy locally sourced meats at our open market. So I‘m trusting these animals are treated humanely by our local farmers. Still, I won‘t be eating any meat for awhile after this read & will rethink my position...as soon as I write my thoughts in the journal I‘ll be sending on this book to Perth, Scotland. #nonfictiontravellingbook @Teakillamockingbird

😢 This is such an important read. We are never neutral in our decisions. We all choose a side when it comes to this issue. Everything we do in life is an ideology, some just followed by a larger group of people. If you want to know where your food comes from and why you feel certain ways towards certain animals, read this. #nonfictiontravellingbook

A couple of chapters in to the #nonfictiontravellingbook and I'm already making notes for the big book. Even read some bits out to my partner and he made a very good point! Going to keep reading and see if it holds true for the rest of the book... 🙏

I haven't eaten meat (read chicken, pigs, cows) for 6/7 years now, but have jumped between veggie, vegan and pescatarian during that time. Wondering where this book will take me on my journey.

Tough read. I don‘t think I‘m specifically the audience, already being vegetarian, but still interesting. The meat industry was one of the main reasons I fell completely over the fence into vegetarianism. As I read for #travellingnonfiction my full thoughts and musings will be in the notebook!

Not sure I can finish, stomach churning and have already cried once in first 50 pages. I haven‘t eaten meat for 33 years! And very sporadically from age 9 -18

This book is enlightening. The author defines the system of Carnism, which is a set of beliefs & attitudes that mistakenly view eating meat as normal, natural, & necessary. The author does an excellent job encouraging us to make positive choices in how we view and treat animals.

I took this photo earlier today at a restaurant. I imagine that if dinosaurs were still around we may find a way to eat them, too.

As the holiday weekend draws to a close, I am thankful that @dariazeoli decided to share this book. Good information that most have never heard.

Our #nonfictiontravellingbook is halfway through Round One! I‘m thinking a lot about its premise this week as we head into a holiday steeped in tradition that involves the killing of millions of birds.

I‘ll be celebrating my eighth veganniversary this Thursday. I lay low when it comes to social media, choosing to remember the turkeys I‘ve met and avoid images of the bodies of those like them on the table.

I‘m grateful for the paradigm shifting

This book is an eye opener big time! Can‘t help but think what we don‘t know does hurt us.

I just finished this for #nonfictiontravellingbook and it is a compelling, emotionally challenging look at the meat-producing industry in the US. I received our #nonfictiontravellingbook today and dug in. It was hard going and I did have to put it down a few times. I became very emotional. I have struggled with my actions when it comes to eating meat, or not eating meat. This book helped me and I hope it continues to help me align my actions and values better.

My girls approved of this book and think we should all read it. #catsoflitsy
