pickI first read this 4th in series 5 years ago (there are currently 9). I‘m now doing a FB read-along with the author, and even though I‘m currently caught up with the latest I was happy to refresh my memory with some forgotten details. ❤️ If you‘re an historical mystery fan and haven‘t met Lady Darby yet, you may be missing out. 😊 I gave this a 4⭐️ back then. I‘ve discovered it‘s even sweeter with time. ❤️ 4.5/5⭐️

pickStayed up late reading to finish this book last night! It was a really good mystery and there was a lot going on in Kiera and Gage‘s life. I‘m annoyed their wedding was off screen, but I just discovered there is a novella for their wedding. So I‘ll need to pick that up

pickI can't get enough of these books! At first I was bummed there weren't more details on "the wedding! " but then I discovered the wedding had its own novella!! (?????) Bonus: it was readily available in my Overdrive!!
pickI am still binging on the Lady Darcy mysteries. A Study in Death has the main character dealing with the powerlessness of wives during the early 19th century. The main character is the widow of an abusive man and the book focused on how conditioned the society was to turn a blind eye or even consider it the norm. This attitude impacts/impedes the investigation.

pickNewly engaged to Sebastian, Lady D is still skittish & unsure that marriage is a good choice. It doesn‘t help that her once devoted BIL has emotionally abandoned her pregnant sister, the latest death might be a result of domestic abuse, & Sebastian keeps being secretive & deferring to his snobby dad. The mystery plot is 👍🏼 but the relationship hiccups are tiresome. Can‘t the 2 just live together? Or is Huber plotting a new partner for Lady D?
I took an afternoon break from reading for some mindless HGTV watching and became buried under cats.

pickThe original was a lucky pick while shelf shopping at the library a while ago and with the second book, I switched to audio. Set in 1800s Scotland, the narration and accents are great. This is the fourth book and the story and mystery are just as engrossing as in the others. Lady Darby and Mr. Gage, along with the secondary characters, are all well drawn. This series should be read in order. 4⭐️
pickSuch a fun series! Highly recommended for historical mystery fans who like a bit of romance thrown in.
Listening to A Study in Death and binding a quilt. I am loving this series! A serendipitous find on Hoopla.
Enjoyed reading the first three books in this series and liked the camaraderie between the two main characters, Lady Darby and Sebastian Gage. I hope I like the fourth book just as much as the others.
