julesG @alisiakae - you changed your handle, right? 1y
TheSpineView I loved this first book. Have not gotten to the others in the series yet. What stuck with me the most is all those worlds and still humans are fighting over stuff. 1y

After reading the first book, I was hooked and couldn't wait to continue the series. Sadly, the second book just wasn't as good as the first one. The characters suddenly didn't feel like friends anymore, while the story somewhat was like a copy of the first one 🤷‍♀️ I liked Maggie, though.

Replenishment stack 1/3 for my #AutumnalColors Display! 😁

Yes, I needed to add this many books to one display. 😆🙈

Have you read any of these?!

I didn't like this nearly as much as the first installment. I think they were trying to do too many things/have too many simultaneous stories going on.

iread2much That‘s what I was afraid of. I really like the first book in the series, and I‘m afraid the rest of the series won‘t be as good... 5y
JoyBlue @iread2much I hate when this happens! 5y

Pickpick

Second in the #longearth series. I like the cat best. Big event is Yellowstone. Is this the reason humans became able to step at this point in time? Why do humans have to treat Trolls so badly? It would be so typical of us.

Panpan

Disjointed and all over the place, a plethora of secondary characters that may or may not have importance. Very disappointing

Pickpick

#2 in the Long Earth series by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter did not let me down. A picking up the first in on the series on a whim I have been devouring them. I think I have something for the 'undiscovered' worlds of literature. For some reason I thought it was just a trilogy but saw last night there are 5 of them! Find those that have read the series, do they stay good throughout the series?

"Consider. We call ourselves the wise ones, but what would a true homo sapiens be like? What would it do? Surely it would first of all treasure its world, or worlds. It would look to the skies for other sapient life forms. And it would look to the universe as a whole, and consider its cultivation." -- Lobsang

This book was fine. It wasn't bad but it wasn't thrilling. To be honest, not much happened. With about 100 pages to go I told myself I would not read the third book in the series. By the end I changed my mind. Not only am I curious about the ending I am completionist at heart.

Slowly working my way through. I feel like it's a long lead up to the titular War.
