I enjoyed following Raimund Gregorius as he tries to find out about the life of Amadeu de Prado.

I feel like I‘ve been reading this book forever and I‘m only at 48%...part of me is tempted to bail, but it‘s my #ReadingEurope2020 #Portugal selection😰

Just starting this book. Has anyone read this? Impression if you have?
"There were the people who read and there were the others."
Sounds interesting, has anyone read it?

#TBRtemptation post 6! This book became a major international bestseller. Raimund teaches Latin at a Swiss school when he meets a woman and starts a new life in Portugal. He takes with him a book by a doctor called Prado. Obsessed with it, he investigates in Lisbon the author's life, and a picture of a man who defied a dictator emerges. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
Some books I've read more than once. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone representing the whole series of course. #rereads #booktober #daylate
"We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there."
I've read this book twice. The first time it blew me away. The second time, I loved it a little more quietly. Isn't it weird how your own life constantly interferes in your experience of a story?
Very little happens in Night Train to Lisbon. It's an emotional journey. It's really quite lovely.
It took a few days but I've finished book three for #bookisholympics! The middle was a little slow, but this Classics professor's trip to Lisbon to discover the life of Amadeu de Prado was interesting.
Time to start book three! #bookisholympics #translatedbooks
