pickI was expecting a mystery that just happened to be set at Christmas. This book was so much more. It is about forgiveness, redemption, self understanding, and the salvation that was born into this world on the first Christmas (whatever time of year it may really have been). I think if you are a believer or a non-believer there are many layers that you might appreciate.
pickI liked this. I went into it totally blind so I had absolutely no idea what kind of book it was, but I really enjoyed it. Kinda gave me Downton Abbey vibes. Three and a half stars.

pickAnother book down for #BookSpinBingo, #DashingDecember, and #WinterSolstice! I‘ve read all three Anne Perry titles on my #BookSpin list and they were all enjoyable. Very Victorian, very mannered, with wonderfully descriptive settings. This one was a journey indeed, but it probably was the fastest read of the three. The mystery was there, but the characters are the focus. Of the three Perry titles I read, Christmas Beginning was my favorite.

A Noel killing: #HoludayCheer: just started, ph. 29,not projected half way through novel.

pickThis series is so popular at my library, I‘m glad I waited until after the holidays to start reading. I like Anne Perry‘s work, and I enjoyed this novella set around Christmas. It features a side character, Vespasia, from the Thomas Pitt series (haven‘t read that yet) helping a friend on a sort of mercy mission to the north of 🏴 to pass along news of a suicide she thinks she played a part in. 3.5 stars, and happy to have read it!
