The use of mistletoe in folk lore dates back to the ancient Druids. They believed mistletoe to be a sacred plant. They thought that mistletoe had mystical powers and held the soul of the host tree.
The mistletoe plant was believed to have specific powers. It was hung on stable doors to ward off evil spirits. We often use mistletoe today, with a single sprig over a woman‘s head being enough to initiate the kiss

I‘ll be pulling from these for my December #BookSpinBingo & #WinterGames2021 TBR. This photo only contains 60 of the holiday/winter books I own. 🎄☃️

Edit: After reading some comments from the reddit post I got this from I guess some people think it comes off as homophobic. It's definitely not. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJDpd1XBdct/?igshid=b2b68jyixcsm the artist explains the joke in the comments in case anyone is concerned.

Crazeedi I didn't think so! She was waiting for a smooch!! 3y
Patchshank @Crazeedi I didn't think so either, but after it was pointed out I could see the confusion. 3y

#WinterGames #MerryReaders #HolidayRead #24b42020 - as a real aficionado of Christmas romance books now 😂 this one was ok (I was spoilt by One Day in December). I think in future I‘ll stick to crime at Christmas.

Andrew65 Hard to follow One Day in December. Great time. 👏👏👏 4y

This is a very typical festive romance but I did enjoy it. It's a light and quick read perfect for Christmas. The setting in this book conjures up very festive images. The story is good and interesting with the manor sale. I love the way the town ralleys to help them all but I did figure early on what might be going on with Claudia. A lovely fun festive read. I couldn't help but love Millie she's so messy just like me and very relatable
