Detective Tracy Crosswhite has a skill, and a soft spot, for tackling unsolved crimes. Having lost her own sister to murder at a young age, Tracy has dedicated her career to bringing justice and closure to the families and friends of victims of crime. So when Jenny, a former police academy classmate and protege, asks Tracy to help solve a cold case that involves the suspicious suicide of a Native American high school girl forty years earlier, Tracy agrees. Following up on evidence Jenny s detective father collected when he was the investigating deputy, Tracy probes one small town s memory and finds dark, well-concealed secrets hidden within the community s fabric. Can Tracy uphold the promise she s made to the dead girl s family and deliver the truth of what happened to their daughter? Or will she become the next victim?"

In this book Tracy Crosswhite investigates 2 cases, a current murder and a cold case. It felt most of the books was about the cold case, she spent little time on the more recent case. It was an intriguing book and I liked the investigative work. Book 3 of the series.

I‘m not much of series reader but I do like this one for when I want to read something that I can just get lost in, where I don‘t have to think too much. Always a good plot, writing and characters. Definitely read more of it when I‘m in the mood for this sort of read.

squirrelbrain I enjoyed this series too. Have you read any of the Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons? They‘re even better, and I don‘t do series either! 2y
youneverarrived @squirrelbrain I haven‘t, but one of the prompts for a challenge I‘m doing is to read a first book in a series so I‘ll try that one! 2y
squirrelbrain They‘re often 99p on Kindle and totally worth it. I‘ve just got book 18 on #netgalley! 2y

My view on this rainy Tuesday! I‘m digging the third book in the Tracy Crosswhite series. I‘ve mainly listened to this one.. first audio book I‘ve listened to actively. I usually will listen to a book I‘ve read a million times on audio to fall asleep lol I really like the change of pace! I‘m slightly behind my 52 book challenge, but catching up quick!

DebinHawaii I like this series quite a bit but haven't tried them out in audiobook yet. 📚👍 7y
brinanah @DebinHawaii I recommend the audio books! The narrator does a really great job! I did have a hard time reading some and then listening to some and hopping back and forth, I probably read about 30 pages overall and listened to the rest. 7y

I liked this one a lot more than the second one in the series - at least nobody was trying to kill Tracy this time! Perfect commute audiobook for a busy, stressful time - giving and grading exams. Pic is of a cool collapsed trestle we found in a clearing during a hike.

#TBRtemptation post! A library new-arrival. Third in a detective series starring Det. Tracy Crosswhite. She helps a former protege solve the 40-year old murder of a Native American high school girl. Sounds interesting to me! Love that cover too, looks just like where I live right now 😊. Its arrival is perfect timing. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Alfoster I read Dugoni's My Sister's Grave (which is in this series) and liked it! Let me know if this is a good one! I have way too many on my TBR list to add it yet! 8y
Bookish_Predator I love this series, have read them all so far and I have The Trapped Girl, the 4th in the series to read this year, trying to stop myself from picking it up knowing how many other #NetGalley books I still have to read 😏 8y
Suzze I have the first one on my shelf. I just know someday I will read it! 😁 8y
MyNamesParadise I've read the first book and it's amazing! The 4th book The Trapped Girl comes out Jan 24th! 8y
MrBook @Alfoster 😂👏🏻 Never too many 😜! @Bookish_Predator You are impeccable 😎👌🏻! @Suzze That's the spirit 😉👍🏻☺! @MyNamesParadise Now you tell me 😂👏🏻! 8y

I'm enjoying the Tracy Crosswhite series. I started it on a lark when the first book was on sale on Kindle for $1.99. This book is the third installment. What a good find!

Bakingbookworm I absolutely LOVED 'My Sister's Grave' and liked the subsequent books. They weren't as 'twisty' as the first book but still a good read. 8y
bookwrm526 That's good to know. I listened to the first on Audible when it was part of a 2-for-1-credit sale, and I was hesitant to get more though I did enjoy the first one 8y
DebinHawaii I like this series a lot. I agree with @Bakingbookworm that the books after the first aren't quite as twisty but definitely still great and worth the read. 👍📚❤️ 8y

⭐️⭐️⭐️This book was just ok for me. I was intrigued by the summary. I thought the story sounded interesting, but the it fell flat for me for the most part. It took me quite a bit of time to read it and it moved slowly for me. In the end, I was glad I stuck with it and found out who the killer was.

I enjoyed this book. It was not as gripping as the first two books in the series, but it was a good book.

3rd book in the Tracy Crosswhite series. Not as good as the first two, but still enjoyable. A 40 year old cold case hits close to home & Tracy travels to a friend's home town to help.
