pickFitting that book 150 of 2022 is this glorious reread. My only question is if this is a duology or if I‘m waiting for another year or so for book 3. Oh well. Onward to the highly anticipated book two… at least I haven‘t lost that one….. yet. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Me: Wandering around Barnes and Noble on the last day of their BOGO 50%. Sees newly released sequel to the above. Impulse buy.
Also me: Has paperback copy of the above, wants to reread it before reading the sequel.
Wicked As You Wish: In hiding, watching from an unknown location, presumably drinking a margarita or something with an umbrella, as I search my apartment like a burglar.
Me: Fine. Downloads the library book on Libby.
pickFor a book that was an impulse buy, I am not disappointed in the slightest! Loved every second and I can‘t wait for the next book!!!! Which won‘t be out until May 2022 😭😭😭😭😭😭
pickI know a lot of people are annoyed that she didn‘t build her own world & instead used a lot of already built worlds, but I enjoyed the story. It might not be an original world, but she still did an incredible job building this world. I personally really enjoyed reading about a combination of all these worlds & gave me quite a thrill to recognise characters. Enjoyed the inclusivity of the characters & I‘m excited to see what happens next!
so-soThis book was so-so for me. At times, I was engaged and loved the story. At other times, I felt like the book was killing time before getting to some larger plot points.

panWay too much information dropped in this first book about politics, the magic system, history of wars, etc. it read like a textbook. Hopefully the next book picks up the plot.

I appear to have a Fairy Book Mother (or Father)! I am a HUGE Rin Chupeco fan and this FairyLoot exclusive Advance Reader's Edition showed up at work today from an Indiana postmark with no note. Since I don't talk books with many people outside of Litsy I'm assuming it came from someone here.

pickI give Wicked as You Wish 4 stars. I really enjoyed reading this book, it had diverse characters and tons of action. The book was a little bit confusing at points and some of the explanations fell flat for me.

panOh boy. This was a dumpster fire for me. The magic system wasn‘t super clear and the author broke his own rules several times. Probably going to make a booktube review for this at some point
Starting the New Year off with a bang by reading my very first ARC! This book is action packed and full of super diverse characters. I‘m loving the Filipina MC who reminds me of my lovely Filipina cousin! What a great story so far!
Just received my first ever ARC in my FairyLoot box this month and I‘m just so unbelievably excited! I‘ve never had an ARC before so I‘m going to start reading right now!!
pickI LOVE Rin Chupeco! I‘ve officially read all her books now & am super impressed by how no two of her series are ever alike. While this one isn‘t my favorite of her work, (personal opinion), it‘s by far her most ambitious. The world building on this in INSANE. “Alternate History” modern America, where fairytale & folklore characters are historical figures. Things like the “Battle of Wonderland” happened, etc.

The chapter titles of this book kill me 😂 I love how Rin Chupeco is such a versatile writer.
